Yemen has gun laws very similar to Texas.  Gun ownership is very common in Yemen, more guns per capita than any other country in the world except the USA.  Yemen has a tyrannical government, and the armed Yemeni population wasn’t able to use their 2nd amendment to defend against a tyrannical government.  If Yemen can’t use their AR 15s to defend against a tyrannical government, how could Americans?

I don’t want to ban Ar 15s.  I just don’t see their use in defending against tyranny.

Simple. Yemen people want a tyrannical government. Those who don't and have guns out in the middle of the Appalachian mountains, may be harder to subject to tyrannical laws.

I have always pushed hard on this reason to oppose it.

It is a lie, an illusion. With current tech and training levels, the military of any developed nation would annihilate all populace in any developed nation.

They have massively destructive weapons we do not even know exist because they are more truly deadly as anything short of nukes and there has not been cause for their unleashing.

Covid was a released biological weapon in my estimation, the release could be accidental or could be intentional, either way I want you to realise just how deceptive and unforeseeable the current warfare is. There are likely weapons that from soundwaves can make you bleed out of your eyes nose and ears to death. Your gun is a joke compared to 2023 tech of a developed nation's military, especially the US's.

Or maybe those with guns in Yemen can't be touched by the government because cops trying to enforce the law will be shot.

A lot of this is not about preventing tyranny of the government on the country as much as making sure that government tyranny doesn't touch your family, not without bureaucrats facing a dangerous situation if they want to harm their people anyway

Let me help educate you;

Saudi has tyrannically colonised Yemen for a while now, against the consent of the Yemeni people. That is what UD is referring to.

Iran is also a villain for doing there what they have done in Israel, they love to proxy war.

You can't respond with military force to civilians the same way you can against foreign invaders and countries

That 'code' is the one thing allowing tame civilians to thrive and prosper, so no 2nd amendment is gonna save if the tyrant becomes a lunatic.

The American 2nd amendment article is for if the American government got out of control. The 2nd amendment people aren't talking about foreign invasion though having an armed populace would certainly help against that

Kinda hard to defend against tyranny if you have a population of 30 million Yemen vs the US army.

10 times that number might be a problem though.

Is a claim that is misrepresenting the situation.

When people have guns, it is easier for them to defend themselves, and slow down the advance of government in case government turns against people.

If people of Yemen didnt have guns, they would still have a tyrannical government. However, in that case, there would be no one able to oppose to the government in any way.

Wars always required weapons. Having them ready is an advantage.

Simple really.

The Yemen government has different laws and regulations for certain things that the people have agreed to, that give the government more power.
It doesn't work for them.

But it would work for us.

Anarchy is the antithesis of government.

Just as tyranny is really.

So one lot has AR15'5 and so does the other lot.

And everyone becomes the anthesis of everyone else.

And as ever, guns are a pseudo-sexual extension of the human libido.

Possible, but evidence is required.

America did our revolution with less than 2 million people.  Yemen can do the same if they wanted.

Supposedly nonlethal, for crowd and border control mostly, but up the decibels or exposure time and it could kill.
