If nothing, they will prove that wealth redistribution works.

Well, it was about time.
Paying every black person in the US (40 million African Americans * 5 million dollars per person) is about $200 TRILLION.  For reference, the entire US federal budget in 2023 is about $6 trillion.  So you’re proposing giving black people 33x the federal budget?  This makes literally no sense.

And the usual argument is that the blacks are descended from slaves.  I’m just courious as to how far this argument goes.  Women until the 1970s were legally raped by their husbands.  This is a much more recent trauma than slavery.  Should we steal $5 million from every man and give it to women?  If so, I don’t know what drug your on; every independent looks at that with such stupidity.  You can want Medicare for all and free college and think giving black people millions of dollars is ludicrous.

If nothing, they will prove that wealth redistribution works.
No; it’s going to create a lot of debt.

And hold on; YOUR religion is the pro slavery one.  The Bible tells slaves to obey their masters.  If you want to be a Bible literalist, you would be PRO slavery.  Being pro slavery and pro reperations makes no sense whatsoever.

Shrug.

SF was a place in the country that NEVER had slavery.
Even the SF NAACP chapter is against such a ridiculous proposal. It’s all a farce.

It is obviously not going to work mathematically with the money.  I wonder if they are throwing it out there as a test run.  So if everybody freaks over 5M, then maybe 5K wouldn't sound so bad?  Are they trying to see if the general public is okay with the idea so they can try to introduce something similar?

Taxation is theft. There is an excuse in this context that the thieves will use it for the victims good. Things like this cause the excuse to wear very very thin.

Black people make up 5% of San Francisco population, which is about 200,000 black people.

Paying each of them 5 million would cost 1 trillion dollars.

So yes, its a lot.

However, thats not all.

They also want to pay yearly income in the amount of 90,000 dollars.

I am guessing the 5 million will not pass, but the basic income might.

Well I can't be too upset about it. It is already known as the city of shit. The faster left-tribers destroy their own strongholds the better.

I know some people are worried about them spreading out and ruining other places, but at least some of them must see the light after being driven away.

Neither idea should pass.  The only people who should get government money are those with government jobs.

Socialism is a recipe for failure.

Well, I do have to say that I have some objections to their idea.

90,000 $ a year means a person doesnt have to work for the rest of his life.

On the other hand, it could cause a person to invest the money in companies and as such, help the economy.

Stocks and cash must be earned, not given by a government that steals it from someone else.  The money won’t be invested; it will be used to make the person lazy.  The vast majority of Americans would quit their jobs if they were paid $90,000 a year since people work because they have too.

I hope it passes so five years down the road we can all listen to those who support the idea say " There is no way we could have predicted this outcome or this would happen'

This reparations BS is pure insanity.
A fringe element of blacks who want something, everything for FREE without a care in the world how the tab gets paid.

While I do agree 5 million dollars is a heft reoperations sum, it is a little unclear who is eligible for the reoperations. Depending on how high the expectations are determines how reasonable it is so it is a little difficult to make a conclusive decision on how right or wrong this is.

Reparations won’t work, and it is unjust. It’s divisive.

truely, this act shows works of a foul spirit that give them ignorance of human nature and what is right.
God shows us in his word that reparations are given to those to whom the wrong is done to, not the children.
