I really hope Mike finds some way to monetize because it would be unfair to expect him to keep footing the bill. Cold cash would ensure the site stays up. He isn't some internet company like Juggle.
Airmax has been banned?! My account is still open, but with mass bans taking place I think it's time to pull the plug on DDO.
The good thing about this site is that because it's new and pretty much still contentless, we can help mold this site into anything we want.
Civid looks like an interesting choice, but Debatearg seems to be more DDOish, which I think is what most people want.

I had a link to DA in my signature. My DDO account remains closed. Jhhillman's signature also refers to DA but it looks like that account is still active, at least as of 2 hours ago.

They made mistakes. First, they should know that the mole is is member. Hari even bragged about his Indians he had called off for the sites brief respite. I don't think he controls them, but he is their way in. They should have deleted the hari account. (And his sockpuppets)Second, people who stayed logged in all the time, did not need to do the captcha. They had permanent access. Till today I could access the site without having to do any captcha.They need a web admin. Either bite the bullet and get it done, or give up on the domain for now. Bots lose interest after some time. But closing all accounts means they finally are serious about fixing the spam problem.
Do you really think Hari had something to do with it? Or does that just jump to your mind because he's a racist troll we don't like who happens to be from India?

At the moment the expenses are not that high, I am using a nice programming language and it's not consuming much of resources so hosting is more or less cheap. It may be much more problematic once the site grows but we ain't there yet :) Most likely eventually I'll add some link to the footer for those who wants to be me a coffee but that'll be later :)

My account is still functional. I have been bushing for DebateArt and heavily criticizing Juggle, so if the bans were politically motivated I definitely wouldn't be here. At this point it looks more like it was a blanket ban of most users. I was inactive for a few months and came back about a month ago, if that makes any difference. Maybe the ban targets people who post a lot?

No, I would never lie because of dislike for him. Though I really do dislike him.
Hari's account was the one they used to get in. He has bragged about it on DDO.
The mistake DDO made was setting up the captcha while compromised accounts were still open and connected to the net.
There are things they need to be doing but still aren't doing. The internet connection to the server needs to be cut, and the server cleaned for malware. It is most likely a trojan horse hacking his host file.
I checked the block of IP numbers used by the spammers. Even the Russian ones are routed through India. Hari was probably getting spam on his PC. And I think a few members may have noticed funny behavior on the phones they use to access DDO.
I think the incredible amount of online searching he did for pornographic images for his racist diatribes exposed him to some very nasty sites.
Some of the images he posted are hosted on the same servers that some of our spam comes from.
I think, instead of Juggle getting a real tech guy to fix this, Airmax got one of his friends to do him a favor. Bots will scan the host periodically to see if spam has been deleted. Removed spam makes them become active again. It isn't enough to just delete the spam. You must find the bots and kill them while disconnected from the net.
It may take longer but they will get it. I think.

Where did he brag about that? Was it the stickied religion thread? I'd love to have a look at his post but I'm sure it's buried now. The last thing I saw in there was him appealing to the spammers as fellow Hindus, urging them to cease their attacks, and then afterward, when the spam temporarily eased up a little and real threads started to gain a bit of traction again, he took credit for saving the site. 🙄
But the rest of what you said there is not uncompelling. Maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to think he's too stupid to be part of a plot. If he was just their way in somehow, he doesn't need to be smart. Though I'm not sure the India connection is necessarily damning. India is an IT beehive of spammers and scammers.

Just everything i have written. Some of the posts or replies i have saved i did a lot of research before posting. Who knows if one day i can use it for monetary gains. Especially since i post mainly in the religion forum, i have some creative work that i would like to have access to. It's pretty dumb if they can't get their stuff together.

A ton of people's accounts were closed. Even airmax's. Some were overlooked but it's not yet clear why.
If there's any thread that contained anything important to you, something you want to save, I'd get to it quick and use whatever method you prefer to preserve it. There's no guarantee the site is going to stay up. It could be shut down completely and indefinitely.
