Well, that's a somewhat odd statement.
What you actually mean is that climate relative to human expectations is comparatively different to previous experiences...Such is environmental evolution and human influence thereof...It is what it is and therefore is not actually "getting worse" or better , but simply changing over time.

Climate change has caused increased heat, drought, and insect outbreaks. In turn, these changes have made wildfires more numerous and severe.

Well, I wasn't quite sure about your insect outbreaks reference and the suggestion that they may have influenced an increase in wildfires.
I simply put forward barbecues as a suggestion.
Though maybe they casually discard cigarette ends.
