I dont mean the entire book.

But for example, take small part of text from the book and memorize it.

It makes me feel connected with the book.

Its almost like part of the book is always with me as I repeat what I memorized.

The book becomes something more than "read and forget" kind of thing.

Yes,
But I don't do it as much as I would like to.

Still it's enjoyable,
To remember a passage in detail,
To relive it's moment,
Or state it in argument.

I dont exactly enjoy reading books, and its been a long time since I read some book entirely.
However, memorizing some parts of a book makes me feel like I read it. I even get better feeling than when I actually read the book.
I have memory problems, so I usually cant follow the plot of the book properly unless I write down the points.

Just scenes and sections are nice sometimes,
Being able to repeat every book or movie one has seen verbatim, would be quite a feat,
Though I'm sure many people could manage 'some select movies or books verbatim, if they tried.

But as I said, I'm pretty happy just thinking on sections or scenes sometimes.

What types of book sections, do you like memorizing?

I usually select part of text that has three or four sentences, so that I can memorize it quickly.

It has to be some catchy text, something that makes me think, wonder about the character, something that makes character special and outstanding.

I prefer to think of happy parts, but sometimes I cant help but memorize some sad parts too.

Nope, not a personal obsession of mine.

Though I always remember the opening lines of The Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy, for Monty Python reasons.

Surreal late 60'sand early 70's British comedy.

Being the operative word.

Walking and singing is fun, soft or loud,
Ideally when people are not around,
For me anyhow.

Helps if one memorizes a song.

Though perhaps some people are fine creators and improvisors on the fly,
I am not.

I have Total Recall so I don't have to memorize anything.  And yes, I look like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
