Republicans see blocking more funding for the IRS as a sort of win. This is short term stupid thinking that only seeks to pander to the wealthy portion of their voters. You know, the portion of their voters that no longer have control of the party.

The tax code is not changed by denying them man power. Perhaps there is some delusion that tax code won't be enforced with a lack of funding, bit there is something of more concern here.

Every year the United States government and citizens lose possibly billions in tax return fraud. There is a delicate balance with computer systems that help people with tax returns because tech savvy 20 year Olds and 95 year old grandma's must be able to complete their taxes on the IRS system.

This means authentification that stops fraudsters is just could be equally as effective at stopping grandma from getting her tax return.

The IRS is underfunded. It can't fight tax frauds done by for example possibly Ukranian hackers that use unsuspecting American citizens to help them steal money from people expecting refunds.

So as good as it may feel to "stick it to the man" and keep the IRS running on a skeleton crew, it harms tax payers and national security.  Unless you are going to completely overhaul the tax system, it makes no sense to block this thing just to pander to people who not only will vote for you anyway, but are also very inclined to listen to the national security argument in favor of a better funded IRS.

We need to get the top tax rate back to 92 percent like Eisenhower had.

That is absurd and a great way to get capital and good jobs to leave the United states. You can increase tax revenue in ways that do not amount to economic suicide in other ways

It is mafia. My ex would collect 25% of revenue from. Local businesses in exchange for protection. It is no different than taxation that goes to police and much more ethical than America's tax rate that can go up to 50% for Same protection.

Besides we offer more than protection. Any business that pays taxes to us does not have to worry about competition

It is that way in America too, but company pays tax in form of campaign donation to eliminate competition.

It is my understanding that trump was donating to both political parties because that is how it works in America. If you don't pay them off they won't allow you to do business. Not in big cities anyway, where he was doing business. Now that he stopped donating to the politicians they apparently to be trying o shut down his businesses and arrest him

Why stop at 92%?

You don't seem very committed to the cause.
