There is no reality to immortality though, it's all fantasy. Nobody has and nobody will live forever, so taking a fictional idea and saying that the "reality" of it is not fun would be ridiculous because you don't know 100% the full spectrum of the situation. Since it's completely imaginary, I could choose to see it as dreary as you painted it to be, or I could focus on the more enjoyable aspects of it.Â

If we could choose the terms of our own immortality, I'd totally be down for this....
Given that immortality would mean:
- Being frozen at any age you want (as opposed to aging indefinitely and being unable to die while suffering the consequences of aging)
- Being immune to any sicknesses/diseases/disorders (viral, bacterial, fungal, radiation, mental deterioration, etc.)
- Either instantaneously healing (like cuts or broken bones) or if the situation calls for it, rapid regeneration (like regrowing lost limbs/head/etc.)
- If for some reason your body is unable to heal/regenerate (for example, being cremated alive or drawn&quartered or hugging an atomic bomb as it explodes) then you suddenly come into existence again into the last safe place you were before being demolished (like respawning)
- Bonus of having amazing memory and remembering everything you want to retain through your life (i.e. remembering major life incidents but having the ability to forget tragedies for the purpose of mental health preservation)

If I'm forever young, I can try all the things I haven't had the opportunity/means/time to try. I can travel everywhere and gain new experiences. As time goes on, cultures evolve and I GET TO WITNESS EVERYTHING HAPPENING. It would be cool as f*ck, like playing a non-meddling God.
If I'm immune to literally anything, I could help ease the super sick patients into their death without worrying about being infected. E. bola who? Don't know her. I could hold the hands of children who are scared and dying and alleviate their fear of the unknown.
I can be as reckless as I want. Jumping from a plane? F*ck parachutes lol I'm gonna F L Y .
Deep sea diving? Who needs oxygen lol I'm invincible and goodbye awkward scuba gear
Short on money? I can regenerate! Just sell my own organs on the black market and move to a different country with a new identity. I'd be filthy rich.
I could have flings all across the country with no commitment and no need to worry about catching STDs lmao. Accidental pregnancy? Sure I could keep the baby if I were bored, but imagine all the infertile/LGBTQ+ families I could make happy.Â
What if I want to settle down and be a family? I'd give it a try, but I know myself, and I know I'd be bored of playing house after like 10yrs. Get a divorce and send them a shit ton of money to keep them happy.Â
I could go and be a mob leader if I wanted to. Literally invincible. Gang wars? Shoot me lol my body will push the bullets out like nothing and I'd have a badass rep. Nobody would mess with my territory.
I could travel to a less developed area of the world and lie to all of them, pretend to be a god and make them worship me lmao
Easy to convince people you're more than human when you can't die. I would have a following and build up an army to take over the world. Once I've conquered everything and I'm bored, I could hop on a spaceship and traverse the rest of the universe.Â
