Let's say you were forced to kill off 10% of the planet to somehow save the planet and you needed to make the decision right now. How would you choose which 10% to genocide?

I think executing people who have committed serious crimes (e.g. murder, rape) should be the first to go. Perhaps moderately serious crimes (e.g. theft, assault) could go next. Those are quick to determine, probably going to remove genetically trash people, and would account for several percentages. I already think the death penalty should exist for serious crimes, so I actually see killing them off as a net positive anyway.

I would then target those pesky groups that don't contribute to societies or actively undermine them (you could probably guess which ones). That's not something I'd advocate for in normal circumstances, but if you're forcing me to kill off people anyway, I guess we could improve global societies while we're at it. That would get most of the remaining percentage points.

I think the people with serious disabilities could go next. People who can't live by themselves, draining the tax dollar, and perhaps not even enjoying like at all. That might squeeze another percentage point. I wouldn't want to kill these people normally, unless I was forced at gunpoint, but they are the next least useful people.

Required reading in school, have there been any books that stand out in your memory, if so, why?
