I usually just jump into conversations on this site, but Wylted and your questions have caught me off guard (actually no guard at all).  I will do some research to clarify what I am trying to express and get back to this one.

Can you name a healthcare regulation you'd like to see eliminated, for example? I'm glad to engage on it but I want to know what you're objecting to, not just assume you are just saying "big government" without having a vector on what makes it so big or ineffective, regulation wise. For example, OSHA standards are economic regulations. Child labor laws, economic regulation. Healthcare regulations like making sure all pharmaceuticals are vigorously tested prior to making it to market? And given your anti-regulation stance, do you think the government should regulate pre-natal healthcare for women?
Ludo, I really jumped in where I don't belong on this issue.  With my knowledge of this, I feel like a one legged man in a butt kicking contest, but thanks for trying to help me iron this out.

For the record, I do think OSHA, child labor laws and pharmaceutical regulations are important.

The left says the same thing about Ukraine.  If the US gets attacked (highly unlikely given we are in NATO and NATO combined has close a majority of the world's military spending and no way will the rest of the world unite against NATO to invade a NATO nation).  The US population is 340 million people; Israel's is 10 million.  Israel won't' be able to help us much in the rare event the US does get attacked.
But they can help in what they can.  They may not be able to take on the world, but they can still help.  Ukraine cannot help unless you consider the money laundering helping.

How?  Without US funding, Ukraine loses land to Russia; without US funding; Israel loses land to Palestine.  Neither are America's problem.
Israel can easily defend itself from Palestine.  They don't need our support.  Ukraine is nearly done and it's only being held up by the US intervention.

Alright; so the Jews in Israel don't need our help, so don't give it to them.
Agreed. I don't think any money should go to Israel since they can easily defend themselves, BUT since they are allies we have to live up the alliance.

What if the Jews came here undocumented (some will)?  Would you send them back to the middle east where they get bombed?
If they can prove their "jewishness", no.  But don't you think the US enemies would claim asylum as a Jew too?

There are 340 million people in the US; I don't know who the vast majority of them are and that's fine; they are strangers.  They should not get kicked out just because I don't know who they are.  I'm an American Citizen; I would prefer it if an ever expanding bureaucratic state knew practically nothing on me because I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful tyranny.
Maybe I didn't say this correctly.  There are groups of people that are actively trying to dismantle and destroy America.  If those groups of people are "home grown" or if they come in from outside the nation, they are still a threat.  So I never said to kick them out because we don't know who they are.  I said to vet them to make sure we know who they are.  They have no ID's, social security numbers, credit scores, etc.  They are ghosts according to the US system.  Anyone a citizen inside the US will have a track record of their history, and therefore, known to be a threat or not.  The FBI has a watch list with those kinds of people already.

If someone commits a terrorist attack, then they should get killed.  However, the vast majority of the undocumented are not terrorists.
Agree.

Causing suffering is not the goal of terrorists; going after symbols is the goal.
Debatable, but good observation.

This is a much better way to deal with terrorist attack prevention than deporting millions of people that had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks.
Deport the illegals and you will catch the terrorists too (too broad of a brush, I know).  I'm all for immigration and I do think the immigration system is broken and much too slow for anyone wanting to come here for a new life.  I live in Phoenix and so I personally KNOW and work with undocumented people ALL THE TIME.  I want those people to come here and get a better life, BUT we must make sure we bring in good people and not crooks, cartels and terrorists.  You open the flood gates and you get the carp(nasty) with the bass fish(tasty).  Make it specific and we can get the best of both worlds.

Which regulations do you think should stay? Or which sorts, not necessarily specifics.
Whew! I really bit off more than I can chew with this subject because I am less than a novice when it comes to regulations.

As for sorts, economic regulations, healthcare, and taxes.  All seem to have to unnecessary or confusing regulations.

Morals restrict freedom; sometimes it's justified (no murder, no r@pe, etc) and other times it is not justified (banning AR 15s, weed or adult gay sex).  But it is a contradiction to have no morals and no freedom.
I would beg to differ.  Morals create freedom.  If you have an open door to all morals, then everyone would be afraid of the other.  This is obviously the extreme, but if murder was allowed, then everyone would be afraid to go out, therefore suppressing freedoms.  When everyone can live to a set code of morality, then the community can thrive on those morals, freedom increases.

The real issue of what is going on now is that people are deciding that old morals are now outdated and we don't know the real ramifications of straying from those morals.

Not with the US taxpayer dime.  I believe in America first, not Israel first.  Same thing with Ukraine.
Agree.  Every Nation has to have their own ability to defend itself.  If they are solely dependent on other nations, they are not sovereign and they are just a branch of the nation(s) they depend on.

Israel is our Ally and so we support them when the need arises.  That's how alliances work.  It would go the other way if we were to be attacked.

The issue with Ukraine is that it is a "proxy war".  Meaning, we are fighting Russia with our weapons, but with Ukraine's people.  Ukraine would fall without our support and with this, I think we should not allow gobs of money and supplies to be sent there.  They are a dead man fighting, only propped up with the stick of US funding.  Israel is much different.

You want to help the Jews?  Then let them move to the US documented or not.  MAGA world won't allow that though.
The Jews are not fleeing for their life though.  They are actively kicking butt.  If the need arose for them to flee, then we would create some sort of asylum for them, but this is not the case.
"MAGA" doesn't allow a free for all at the border because we don't know who is coming in. There are a lot of terrorists being caught but that doesn't count for any of the "got aways" that have not been caught or even noticed.  It's not that we are racists (which we are not), it just too dangerous to allow everyone over the border with out proper vetting.

@Mall
The issue is when the subject of sex is brought up, people tend to think of social aspects instead of the mechanics of it like mechanics to everything else.
Thanks for clarifying.  I couldn't think of a good term, but the "mechanics" of an issue would be a good way to describe what I was trying to say.  The sperm and the egg has a very specific function and, ultimately, intercourse would bring those together.

Can we agree that if his response was to punch you in the balls, then as your writhed in pain on the floor, kick you in the back until you had three broken ribs, then punch your face until both your eyes closed, then drag you out of the house to take a piss on your back, that such a response is not justified?
Love the visual!  You must have had a brother.

Or are all responses to aggression justified?
I see what you are saying.   What dictates an appropriate response, correct?  I suppose that depends on the situation and the severity, but I would agree with Israel in this situation.

If we look back and say that Israel is the aggressor by "bullying" the Gaza area, then maybe their kidnapping and baby beheading could be considered appropriate.  They are trying to get from under the thumb of the Israelis.  So then Israel's response from that could just as equally justified.  I believe the goal of Israel is to destroy Hamas and I would say that is appropriate.  Kill or be killed kind of thing and unfortunately there are casualties of war.

Conservative Anxiety

@badger
I find conservatives are far more likely to lose composure or "crack" than liberals because liberals stand steadfast on a pillar of humanity. And it amuses me.
As a strict conservative myself, I do see myself "crack" like what you say Badger.  My thought is that since my views are very much rooted on a book with limited description, then I have finite resources to fight with when objected to it.  My views can only be defended so far and then at a point I can only say, "this is what I believe" and just stand my ground.  I.E. Trannies.  I have no proof and research to say why it is wrong, it's just wrong.

On the other hand, with a liberal point of view, there are no absolutes in the universe and everything in constantly in flux, therefore when a liberal fights, he can fight from all angles and is not regulated to a set of rules.  They can talk out of both sides of their mouths and the ends justifies the means.  Consequences of their thoughts and actions don't have relevance and if it does, they just change the laws to make them look better.

As for your comment about the size of the government. You can perhaps get more specific if you give a lot of thought to what you believe the role of government should be.
True.  I don't have specifics, just smaller government, means smaller monies to support it and smaller regulations for businesses.  Not all regulations should go as I am not an anarchist.  I do believe in government, but not like we have.

OP was 7 sentences. You lost it all to the last one. Then regurgitated a garbled mess of meaningless bullshit. Atlas Drooled more like.
If I'm drooling, then you are lapping it up.

The OP was referring to Republicans fighting over issues that are not financially relevant SUCH AS Trans in sports.  The topic was not Trans in sports.  He gave other examples but you didn't gripe over that.

My point was that we, as Republicans, must see the big picture (save country) rather than focus on the crisis at the moment (financial need).

You are fighting shadows, Badger.  Good luck!

What tax rate should everyone have? What is the precise size the government should be?
Don't make me think harder than I want to Wylted!

I think a flat tax would work best but that can only be done if we reduce the spending since a most of taxes are burdened on the back of the rich.

For a precise size of government, I want it to fit on the size this period(.)   . . . Really, I don't know that but there are some useless government ways of buying and spending and agencies.  Secret Service it looks like is one of them.

Israel has to defend itself.  The reaction that Israel gave is pretty similar to when I was a kid and I antagonized my big brother.  I would run up and slap him while he was reading a book (or something of that sort) and he finally had enough of me doing this and turned around and slugged me HARD on the arm.  I was taken back as my little slaps were hardly painful and on the edge of annoying.  When I said indignantly "I didn't hit you that hard!", he just said, "So?"

Point of my story is the antagonizor does not get to dictate the severity of the response of the antagonized.

If Israel wants to blow Hamas off the map, then that's their business.  Go Israel!!  Get those terrorists!!

ntercourse is not an "If, then" situation.
It doesn't always result in a pregnancy. More often than not it does not due to contraception & timing of the month.
Some even have intercourse despite a woman being on her period.

A match will always light when properly stricken.

True, but It's the case that intercourse will produce a baby (with proper circumstances), just like striking a match will produce a fire (with proper circumstances).

it's hard to imagine you have any sort of real economic plan for your country.
Hmmm. . . Then you don't have much of an imagination.  Lower taxes, smaller government, stop give money to people who refuse to work, stop sending money overseas to corrupt governments.  That would actually have a HUGE economic impact just within our country by not having to spend so much money, reducing the need to borrow from the FED and also improving the value of our dollar.  That would make the dollar the major currency around the globe as it would want to be used like a gold standard, MASSIVE trade.

Then stop bashing the people who actually make the money by taking the big risk and celebrate achievements.  Stop trying to tell everyone that rich people are the bane to society and that poor people are actually the back bone of America.  The real backbone is the middle class.  Most people are poor because they want to be poor.

Comparing the social-psychological and physiological nature of human sexual relations to the mere act of lighting (playing with) matches is NOT a legitimate comparison.
Maybe I can clarify what Mall is referring to and why it makes sense to him.  It seems like you are relating sex to all the phycological and physical functions and drive while Mall is merely referring to the physical act of intercourse, .

So if this is the case, then you are correct that Mall is comparing apples to oranges as there are so many complexities with sex than just private parts moving together.

However, if Mall is simply referring to the final action of those private parts will produce a baby if the woman is fertile, then an "IF, THEN" action is understandable like matches.

I'm just trying to further the conversation.

Poor people are fine.  Republican voters are fine.  When you are a poor republican voter on the other hand, you make no sense to me.  You may not want Lia Thomas to compete with women in sports, but is that really a bigger issue for you than your healthcare bills?  Or your child's college education costs?  If George Soros is paying more money in taxes, then why would you care?  You are not George Soros.
There is a bigger picture than what is just relevant to me right now.  It is about the social & moral decline of America.  If America turns into a communist country (no morals, no freedom, etc) while I am poor, then I will forever remain poor.  If I can promote values in the government while I am poor, then I will have a chance to break out of poverty AND give that chance to everyone else who is willing to fight for their future.

Or are the heroes?
I would say neither.  No need to turn to the extremes in this case.

But let's be honest, for most folk an execution is a titillating headline...And then carry on with the daily routine...Such is morality.
Very true.  Same with anything that distracts life such as a birth and a funeral.

You're the only one invoking sides here. Wylted presented what I found to be a ridiculous conspiracy theory so I asked if he would be embarrassed after being proven wrong again (he's bought into these many times before). There was no connection or meaningful comparison from there to Joe Biden's cognitive state as seen by liberals, so you're the only one here feeding into our political divisions.
Then my fault for not being more definite.  I was merely comparing the reaction of the truth being found, NOT the theories.

If the liberals won't be embarrassed for the truth coming out, then they should not care if we will be embarrassed when the truth comes out.  Therefore, I find your original question of embarrassment hypocritical.

This country is so divided and full of anger that we are going to explode soon.  I recommend we all pick a side that would win in a civil war.  One side will gain power and try to push the other side out.

Jan 6 was a near pre-curser to that.  If they had not tried to play by the rules like good Americans, then we may have a better country now.  They should have just destroyed everything like BLM and it would have been a good thing, but unfortunately conservatives believe in life and the value of God, country and family.  I could only think of a handful of politicians that would be worth saving, on either side.  Wipe them out and start over again.

Screw all you liberals for drinking the media kool-aide and driving our country to go to pot.  Screw the corrupt politicians for not holding up a moral standard and making our debt how it is.

I hope Trump gets into office and breaks everything.

DISCLAIMER:  I do not support political violence.

I personally am a pro-lifer.  I have 4 children of my own THAT I also raise and care for.  The reason that there is such a debate on this is because the world view that people have.

Example:

God created all things and therefore the child is precious for any reason it was conceived.

OR

We are only a series of accidents and progressed though survival of the fittest, therefore the child that doesn't meet the mustard of whatever standard gets the fetal axe.

I feel bad for women that have been raped or abused, but it's not the child's fault.  Kill the rapist, not the baby.

My biggest problem with abortion is that it allows people to shirk responsibilities that they KNOW will happen if they engage in sexual intercourse with the opposite sex. Look up studies on why women get abortions and they will show that around 94%-97% of women have the abortions because it just wasn't convenient.  The other 3%-6% are the rapes and incest.  The argument always highlights the poor raped woman and it's really disingenuous.  Over 9 out of 10 of abortions are not from illegal actions, but the spotlight is always on the illegal actions and how pro-lifers are pro-rapists.  Ridiculous.

To me, abortion snuffs out a life that would happen by the mother's own decision.  It is one of the most selfish things ever.  It is on the same avenue as child abuse, neglect and the such.  The parents need to grow up and take responsibility or at least be educated how babies are made.  Don't want a baby?  Prevent it (no sex, condoms, get snipped, etc).  Simple.

They aren't good enough PERIOD!
Again, you just refuse to see.

These are not an examples of god's of  love, tolerance , humility, fairness, justness on display, you idiot!
Hmmm . . . I'm curious to know what you would claim is "love, tolerance, humility, fairness justness on display".  Apparently we are not talking about the same displays, but I would assume that these do show love:

called my son out of Egypt - showing at least enough care to reach for someone he loves.
I taught Ephraim also to go - Teaching someone that he refers to as "his son" AFTER they worshiped idols, tolerance
I drew them with cords of a man - He would stoop so low as to act kind to man.  Humility
but they knew not that I healed them - This one I would agree is unfair.  They deserved judgement but God was merciful - Fairness

I would argue justness in the same sense as the last example above.

So here you go.  It's on display just in one passage.  I'm sure there are plenty more examples, but I don't have time to argue with a nasal whiney fool that have stompy fits that say "God is a meanie!" and blow everything off that is shown to them.

I think you proved my point on your annoyance.

the only SINGLE time the OT god even mentions the word - love,  is when he commands a father to slaughter  his son that he dearly loves. YES twat, the only single time!!!

I think you proved my point again. (selective reading) A quick google search shows that the word love first appears in the Bible with Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac, BUT there is another passage that refers to God's love.

Nehemiah 9:17
You are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and did not forsake them.

Not Good enough?  How about this?

Isaiah 54:10
“For the mountains may depart
   and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Or is this not God speaking and it's only man's concept of God?

How about the actual Hebrew word being used for love "ahavah"? (not that I am an expert in Hebrew) This would be the best word to describe love or care.

Jeremiah 31:3
3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

How about Hosea chapter 11?:

When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

Again, selective reading and a nasal whiney voice coming through the screen.  "God is so mean!" says Stephen.

You are derailing someone else's interesting and engaging thread.

Where have I said "no one can prove the love of god"?
post #20 -"I have challenged almost every single god fearing theist here on this forum to start a thread that shows me anything in the BIBLE showing gods love on display or an act of kindness."

Was I reading too much into this statement?

Well I shall yet again ask you to show me different.
Show you?  Read the rest of the bible and you'll find it just like you cherry pick the judgement scriptures too.

You just ignore it and then rant on how much God is bad.

You disappeared from the thread the last time you attempted to show me gods love, tolerance , humility, fairness, justness.  Or have you forgotten this thread created under your other user name already? Well I haven't.
I usually disappear from forums for a while because I have better things to do than to beat my head against another hard head.  Not worth my time.  I can't prove something to anyone who already has their mind made up and especially from someone who is so annoying to read.  Your voice is real nasal and whiney whenever I read your posts.   Discourse with you is like drinking from a toilet.  I suppose I got what I wanted, but not sure if I like the process.

I'm jumping in late, but . . .

Nobody is born gay.  It is completely against any type of genesis of man.  If you believe in the Biblical God, then he would not create a human already condemned as an abomination.  If you believe in evolution and the "gay gene", it will be extinct very soon since the person will be driven to not procreate with the other sex.

If any man would mention an attraction to the same sex, usually it's because of some sort of traumatic background.  Any other sexual deviation we will call perversion EXCEPT homosexuality.  Why is it allowed and being counted as okay now?

Women were not treated as lesser people.  They had their role and there had to be a leader.  That was the man.  It everything to do with harmony in the home or church so everyone had a place.

As for roles, look up the whole Alpha Male thing.  Women are programmed to respond to manly men and vice versa for guys.  It is a thing inside all human male and females.  Also, I'm not saying that a woman CANNOT do what a man can and vice versa.  I'm saying that the home and society will run better when the male and female, husband and wife, are in their respective places.

So society can carry on with things out of place, but it's like riding a bike with flat tires.  You'll get down the road, but not very well.

As for Stephen's account that no one can prove the love of God, he just won't listen.  He is hell-bent on believing that God is a murderous and dreadful person full of spite and malice.  Selective hearing I guess.  Look for the bad and you'll find it.  It all over the Bible about the love and judgment of God alike.  Just make sure you are on his good side.

2) both parties to some extent "allow" it because the economy is, in many ways, tied to illegal immigrants. There are entire industries that would collapse without them. Especially in farming and service industries. Not a lot of people want to be cleaning toilets and picking fruit in the scorching heat for very little pay.
I am aware of this and am involved with the industry that uses the labor, but the amount has been extraordinary in this administration.  Does it justify the amounts that are coming?

Seriously, how do you think they are voting? How would that work?
Well, you do know that a vast, vast majority of illegals do not report that they are illegal right?  They have fake I.D.s and fake SSN's too.  I just looked up the voter registration for AZ and all they need is a SSN or even a driver's license.  So all they have to do is put those onto the form and "viola", registered.  Illegal?  Yes.  Voting? Also yes.

Here is a excerpt straight from the AZ Secretary of State website:

Arizona Proof of Citizenship Requirement
A person who submits valid proof of citizenship with their voter registration form (and is otherwise an eligible registrant) is entitled to vote in all federal, state, and local elections in which they are eligible. A.R.S. § 16-101.
A registrant who attests to being a citizen but fails to provide proof of citizenship and whose citizenship is not otherwise verified will be eligible to vote only in federal elections (known as being a "federal only" voter).
A "federal only" voter will become eligible to vote a "full ballot" in all federal, state, and local elections if they later provide valid proof of citizenship to the appropriate County Recorder's office.

All they have to do is fill out a voter registration and can vote in federal elections, but not local.  All they have to do is say they are a citizen but don't have to prove it.

So yes, it is already illegal to have non-US citizens to vote, but I just found a loop hole.

Trump after the shooting

@TheUnderdog
You won’t be able to convince most people to vote for you based on policy.  You need good vibes.  It’s frustrating, but it’s true.
Unfortunately, you have hit the nail right on the head.  About 30-35% or democrats will vote democrat regardless if Biden is in a comatose state.  Just look at Fetterman.

About 30-35% of Republicans will vote Republican regardless if Trump is a dictator.

It is the last 30-35% of voters that the vibe account for.  For example, a certain lady on social media (don't remember her name) was a life long democrat and after Trump got up with his fist in the air after the shooting, she changed her mind because she thought Trump looked "badass".  Screw policies, he just looked good.

DISCLOSURE: percentages are my own made up doing.  It may be more polarized than the 35%.

A comfortable lie, or an uncomfortable truth?

An uncomfortable truth.  A lie will always catch up with you.  A truth can help you see life better, regardless of how bad it is.

Loonies who support grabbing pudding by the crotch before their eating the pudding, is not loony in their minds.
I hope I have clarified that I am not voting for Trump because he is an angel.  Obviously he is not.

And if this is your objection to Trump (pussy grabbing), consider that Biden would go swimming naked in his pool while the female secret service was around.  It was said that they had code word for when this would happen since he would do this regularly.

But obviously this is only fodder since we all know that Biden and Trump are not "good" people.

This goes back to Trumpets claiming Obama is not a USA citizen, and now 140 people who worked for Trumpet are behind the Project 25 to show a birth certificate along with a 2ndary proof of USA citizenship.   This is all about trying to ...' make america white again '...movement.
I guess this would be considered pointless AND if it is, what does it hurt.  All they are doing is reinforcing the law on this.  If Obama has a birth certificate, then it's fine.  Why the big deal?

Both Carl Sagan  and Bucky Fuller { 1981 }  made comments that humanity is moving into a new dark age, or as Fuller put it, were already in a new Dark Age
The only thing that demands change is the progressive movement.  Conservatism has never changed, so it looks like YOU are the one pushing us into a new dark age.  Good job!

I got to admit this is suspicious

HB - Let me get this straight. There is absolutely no evidence of any significant amount of fraud, so you choose to take that as evidence of fraud?
I never said the chart was the evidence.  I said that the fact that nearly all of the mail ballots went to Biden was suspicious.  Nobody got the chance to investigate it.  All the recounts came out the same, but if the mail in ballots were fake, how can we find it out if we are not allowed to inspect them?  We can't inspect them if we don't get approval.  Approval can't happen unless we have evidence.  We can't have evidence unless we can inspect them.

See the circular problem here?

IWRA - Impress me.
Not in your dreams.

As for the illegal immigrant voting.  Why is the southern border wide open with MILLIONS of illegals pouring in?  What would be the reason that the current Administration would allow this?  Giving them cash cards, putting them up in hotels, etc.

There were tons of recounts all over the country.
If you recount bad ballots, then of course you will get the same result.

It probably sounds fishy to the village idiot too. Why do you think that is?
Why didn't democrats vote for the bill that passed through the house about illegals not able to vote?  Hmmm . .  Sounds fishy again.

Trumpism doesn't survive without Trump, once he is no longer driving out politics only then do we have a chance to rebuild.
True to an extent.  He wouldn't have such a following if it didn't resonate with the people.  If he were looney, then he would have only nuts as his following, but since majority of the right is on Trump's side, I think Trump was more of a spark plug to the MAGA engine.

of course it's a vertical line. They got the results of a lot of mail in ballots all at once. Why would it not be?
I think that is Underdog's point.  Why did all the mail in ballots turn out so much for Biden when the graph climbs for both candidates at a consistent level?  Then all of a sudden, Biden voters came in like a flood with the mail ins?

There was no "evidence" because they could not get their hands on the ballots.

It does sound fishy to me.

People want a radical change . . .
It's not so much that we want radical change.  It's really that we want the radical changing to stop and to go back to a realistic government, which seems radical from where we are now.

Stop making everything in life about DEI.  Stop such perverseness such as gays and trans.  Stop spending so much money.  Stop the pork spending.  Stop the reaching into everyone's life.  Stop the spreading and support of  false narratives of global warming, evolution etc.

The US Government is quickly becoming big brother and turning into an Elitist system with a communist swing.

My only hope is that we don't vote in another elite.

I hope Trump "sees the light" in a lot of ways to make this country stronger.
