Downwinds

Hey. I joined debate.org recently and found this place shortly afterwards. I'm not sure if this is a replacement or just the same basic idea as that site. Either way, I genuinely enjoy discussing 'the issues' and exploring my values and opinions through logic and reasoning. I spend more time than I probably ought on the internet too, as it's a way to interact without constantly setting off my anxiety. I came to these sites because I was hoping for somewhere I can talk about things in a fairly serious way. Obviously there are many places on the internet where people think a well-thought-out response means telling someone to "f*ck off". That's basically what I'm wanting to get away from. It doesn't help anything and only makes me feel bad. Not to say I can't have fun (I hope?), just that I also value having some basic respect.

I care about a lot of things. If I've written something on my profile, I probably care enough to be open to discussing it. Politically I'd say I'm a socialist, and for religion, atheist. I'll get around to being more specific on my profile at some point, probably. I'm open to friend requests and messages and such too. I shouldn't have to add that I have no patience for trolls..
