There is an emerging consensus that current evidence supports attributing some form of consciousness to other mammals, birds, and at least some cephalopod molluscs (octopuses, squid, cuttlefish).

Why are so many resilient to fact-based truth regarding black criminality?
Sometime in 1619, a Portuguese slave ship, the São João Bautista, traveled across the Atlantic Ocean with a hull filled with human cargo: captive Africans from Angola, in southwestern Africa. The men, women and children, most likely from the kingdoms of Ndongo and Kongo, endured the horrific journey, bound for a life of enslavement in Mexico. Almost half the captives had died by the time the ship was seized by two English pirate ships; the remaining Africans were taken to Point Comfort, a port near Jamestown, the capital of the English colony of Virginia, which the Virginia Company of London had established 12 years earlier. The colonist John Rolfe wrote to Sir Edwin Sandys, of the Virginia Company, that in August 1619, a “Dutch man of war” arrived in the colony and “brought not anything but 20 and odd Negroes, which the governor and cape merchant bought for victuals.” The Africans were most likely put to work in the tobacco fields that had recently been established in the area.

Why are blacks more likely to both commit and be victims of "violent crime"?  It is probably what Whites taught them.

@Ehyeh
The Forty Thieves — likely named after Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves — were formed in 1825 and alleged to be the first known and oldest New York City criminal street gang. The Thieves consisted primarily of Irish immigrants and Irish Americans who terrorized the Five Points neighborhood of 19th century Manhattan. Another criminal gang named the "Forty Thieves" which had no criminal ties to the New York gang was formed in LondonEngland in 1828. From 1873-1950s, an all-female London criminal gang known as the "Forty Elephants" was also known to use the name the Forty Thieves. Later a criminal gang in Philadelphia called themselves the Forty Thieves. The Kerryonians, another early Irish gang formed in the same year as the Forty Thieves, have been alleged to be the second oldest organized criminal gang in New York City.

Who can forget President Trump’s dig of Michael Cohen as a “rat” and praise of Paul Manafort for not “flipping” during the Russia investigation? Throw in Rudy Giuliani as an addled Robert Duvall consigliere from “The Godfather,” and you have Trumpworld in a nutshell. (“President Trump’s mobster rule,” Opinion, Dec. 22)
But unlike Al Pacino’s criminal mastermind character, Trump is more like the older brother Fredo “I’m smart” Corleone.
As for his followers’ penchant for tough guys (real or imagined), a segment of the population has always had a thing for outlaws and gangsters. What’s a little collateral damage if you can live the American dream?

According to Erin Aubrey Kaplan, Trump supporters are like members of the mafia, because “in Trump’s world, you have carte blanche to smash and grab, to seize what you want by force.”

What is a man or woman?
Defining gender as a condition determined strictly by a person’s genitals is based on a notion that doctors and scientists abandoned long ago as oversimplified and often medically meaningless.
Researchers who have studied gender issues and provided health care to people who do not fit the typical M/F pigeonholes said that previous Trump administration plan to define gender goes beyond the limits of scientific knowledge.
“The idea that a person’s sex is determined by their anatomy at birth is not true, and we’ve known that it’s not true for decades,” said Dr. Joshua D. Safer, an endocrinologist and executive director of the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery at Mount Sinai Health System in New York. He is also president of the United States Professional Association of Transgender Health.

Humans and insects have very different bodies. But there are many ways in which the two are actually very similar. Because of these similarities, studying insect physiology is helpful for medicine and agriculture.
How much of your DNA do you think is the same as a fruit fly's? Would you have guessed 60%? That's right, 60% of the DNA code of fruit flies and humans is identical. That means that most human genes and insect genes are the same and function very similarly.
Most of the enzymes made by insects and humans are also very similar. Muscle and nerve cells also work alike in humans and insects. We both have brains, hearts, digestive tracts, reproductive organs, and muscles that do more or less the same things. Humans and insects all require oxygen and food and they all produce wastes.

Should we really be killing Fruit Flies?

Do we really need a registered sex worker in the Dutch city of Amsterdam as First Lady again?
A cursory Google search for the former First Lady Melania Trump will show many articles about her history as a model, an escort, and a sex worker in the city of Amsterdam. However, are any of these stories true? While there are many rumors and hearsay about Melania there is one incontrovertible truth: Melania Trump was and still is a registered sex worker in the Dutch city of Amsterdam.

The Biden Border Crisis
The words of Emma Lazarus’s famous 1883 sonnet “The New Colossus” have seemed more visible since Donald Trump’s election. They can be found on the news and on posters, in tweets and in the streets. Lines 10 and 11 of the poem are quoted with the most frequency—“Give me your tired, your poor, / Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free”—and often by those aiming to highlight a contrast between Lazarus’s humanitarian vision of the nation and the president’s racist rhetoric.
After reports that Trump had described Haiti, El Salvador, and African nations as “shithole countries,” the former FBI director James Comey tweeted a bit of the sonnet, along with his interpretation of its meaning.

Well, this might affect the Jan. 6 committee hearings.
A video posted to Crimo’s YouTube page on Jan. 2, 2021, appears to show Crimo among a throng of protesters cheering for Trump’s presidential motorcade outside an airport. Crimo flips the phone’s orientation to reveal his face at the end of the video.
Crimo is also seen draped in a Trump flag in a June 27, 2021, post on Twitter.
