" I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own — a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotisms.“ — Albert Einstein

Well, at least democrats don't take bribes from foreign countries.
US Rep. Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska(Republican) was convicted Thursday on charges that he lied to federal authorities about an illegal $30,000 contribution to his campaign from a foreign billionaire at a 2016 Los Angeles fundraiser. A federal jury in LA deliberated about two hours before finding the nine-term Republican guilty of one count of falsifying and concealing material facts and two counts of making false statements. Each count carries a potential five-year prison sentence and fines. The judge set sentencing for June 28. Fortenberry was charged after sitting for two interviews with FBI agents who were investigating the donor, Gilbert Chagoury, a Nigerian billionaire of Lebanese descent, reports the AP.

Clearly, life begins when you draw your first breath. That is when God places your soul in your body. Your soul enters your body with your first breath and it leaves with your last. The body is just a vessel — your being, your humanity, is your immortal soul. That's what the Bible says, and for the life of me I cannot understand why so many people, especially supposedly religious people, get this wrong. There is no question, no moral ambiguity. Abortion destroys an empty vessel, it does not kill a human being.

I agree. What a great way to increase the Democratic base. 75% of women requesting abortion in the US are in poverty or in the low income bracket. The poorest 12% of women account for almost 50% of abortions and the poorest 30% for 75% of abortions.

I agree, they should be called Judas. Take the aforementioned Judas. Without quoting chapter and verse, the CliffsNotes of Judas’ snitchery go like this: Judas was Jesus’ buddy, a disciple, and at the Last Supper with Jesus and the other disciples, Jesus predicted that someone there would betray him. After dinner, Judas ran to the Roman authorities, who wanted Jesus for religious fanaticism. The Romans gave Judas 30 silver coins in exchange for him telling them where Jesus would be tomorrow. The next day, Judas lead the Romans to Jesus, Jesus was arrested and — spoiler alert for a 2,000-year-old story — later crucified (don’t worry, he got better).

Right-wing commentator Candace Owens blasted the U.S. response in a series of tweets, saying Americans should read a transcript of Putin's address to the UN Security Council “to know what’s *actually* going on,” and claiming that potential NATO membership for Ukraine serves as a threat to Russia and means “WE are at fault.”

People complained about paying taxes even in Jesus’ time. The Roman Empire, which had conquered Israel, imposed a heavy financial burden to pay for its army, road system, courts, temples to the Roman gods, and for the emperor’s personal wealth. Nevertheless, the Gospels leave no doubt that Jesus taught his followers not only in words but by example, to give to the government any taxes that are owed.
In Romans 13:1, Paul brings further clarification to this concept, along with an even broader responsibility to Christians:
"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." (NIV)
We can conclude from this verse that if we don't pay taxes, we are rebelling against the authorities established by God.

From Christianity
to Witchcraft: A Spiritual
Journey
by LORRI SHANNON
When I was ready
to begin my spiritual journey anew, I started fresh. I opened myself to everything,
not just different denominations of Christianity. In reading, I stumbled
upon something called Wicca, an Earth-based nature religion that proclaims
itself to be the practice of modern day witchcraft.
Wicca is the fastest growing religion today. Followers of Wicca worship a
God as well as a Goddess. Its practitioners revere the Earth as an extension of the
Goddess herself and aspire to live in harmony with nature. Wiccans believe in
reincarnation, but not as the Hindus believe. Wiccans believe that humans come
back as humans.
Wiccans believe in magic. Chanting and meditation are used to achieve an
alternate state of consciousness to better commune with the Goddess and the
God. Spells are used in much the same way a prayer is, with one great difference:
whereas a prayer is most often a linguistic appeal to a higher power to grant a
request, in a spell the practitioner uses visualization to direct unseen energy to
achieve the desired effect.
There are eight holidays that make up what is called the Wheel of the Year,
and many customs from such holidays as Halloween, Christmas and Easter
actually come from the pagan holidays of Samhain, Yule and Ostara. These
holidays are often based on ancient harvest or fertility festivals celebrated in
Britain, when the people lived close to the land. Apart from the Wheel of the
Year are esbats, which are rituals that celebrate the different phases of the moon.
It was in learning about this Earth-based nature religion that I realized what
had been missing to me: anything feminine and positive. As a woman, I felt left
out of male-dominated Christianity, although I didn’t realize it at the time. I
simply didn’t feel completely satisfied, never understanding why.

The national debt recently passed $30 trillion. The publicly held debt (minus Social Security lending to the Treasury Department) is $23.5 trillion, a bit over 100 percent of GDP. Within a few years, the U.S. will bust the record of 106 percent set in 1946 as World War II ended. Then, rapid economic growth reduced that ratio, which ran “only” 35 percent as recently as 2007, before the financial crash. Putin got Trump elected to bankrupt the USA. This will happen when the Yuan becomes the World currency.

Your reference is based upon the “COVID-19 vaccine surveillance report - week 38” (here), published on Sept. 23 by PHE, which has since been renamed by the UK Health Security Agency.
The document contains information on COVID-19 cases, hospitalisations and deaths in England between Aug. 23 and Sept 19, 2021.
Indeed, of 1,521 over-80s who died from COVID-19 during this time, 1,272 were fully vaccinated, the data shows. Forty-three had received one vaccine dose, while 198 were unvaccinated. Meanwhile, 607 out of 801 70 to 79-year-olds who died from COVID-19 had received two vaccine doses (164 hadn’t been vaccinated) and of 411 60- to 69-year-olds, 258 were fully vaccinated (125 were unvaccinated).
However, the numbers alone miss the context necessary to understand the impact of COVID-19 vaccines. This data does not show that people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are more likely to die from the virus.
When much of a population has been vaccinated, most infections and deaths are “expected to be among those vaccinated”, Dr Muge Cevik, a clinical lecturer in infectious diseases and medical virology at the University of St Andrews, previously told Reuters (here).
On Sept. 19, 64.9% of over-16s in England had received one vaccine dose, with 59.5% having also received the second, according to the document.
When adjusted proportionally to display the rate per 100,000 people in all age groups, the number of COVID-19 deaths is higher in the unvaccinated population than in the vaccinated population, the data shows.
For the over-80s, the rate of death per 100,000 unvaccinated was 156. For those vaccinated, it was 49.5.
For those aged 70-79, the rate of death was more than five times higher in those who are unvaccinated.
Meanwhile, the rate of death for unvaccinated 60- to 69-year-olds was 66.4 out of 100,000 in comparison to 13.1 for those who are vaccinated.
This shows that, proportionally, fewer people died from COVID-19 who had been fully vaccinated.
