Most originated with the Sumerian's. Some were bronze age Buddhist writings, and others were Greek writings. Not much is original at all. Just the political spin, the names, and locations.
Jesus is very much a copy of the profit Zoroaster. Many of his sayings, for example; “Love thy enemy” was stolen from much older Buddhist writings. Keep in mind that Buddha allegedly died 500 years before the alleged birth of Jesus.

The bible, more or less implies some things that are known not to be true. Being that these items are not spelled out exactly, they are interpretations:
The stars are not “hung” only a few thousand miles above the Earth.
The Earth is not flat.
The Earth was not flooded 4000 years ago.
The earth is more than 6000 years old.
Many of the cities mentioned in the new testament either did not exist or where not inhabited at the alleged time of Jesus.
There is no evidence of an Exodus (at least not as many people exited as was claimed).
The list goes on.
Do not allow me to discourage you from being a Christian if you like. Chose whatever religion makes you happy. Just do it informed. If you doubt anything I am saying, just take some collage level classes in religious history, or in theology. All professional theologians know this stuff.
