A man convicted of defaming an ordinary citizen about raping that same person…

Lawyers hired by CBS to investigate allegations against ousted CEO Les Moonves have reportedly found evidence that he “engaged in multiple acts of serious nonconsensual sexual misconduct in and outside of the workplace, both before and after he came to CBS in 1995”.
The report alleges that Moonves received “oral sex from at least four CBS employees under circumstances that sound transactional and improper to the extent that there was no hint of any relationship, romance, or reciprocity (especially given what we know about his history of more or less forced oral sex with women with whom he has no ongoing relationship).” In one instance, he allegedly had a network employee “on call” to give him oral sex in his office. The report states that “a number of employees were aware of this and believed that the woman was protected from discipline or termination as a result of it.”

@IwantRooseveltagain

A decade before Donald Trump became the Republican nominee for president, he shared candid and lewd views on women that were caught on tape.
“I’m automatically attracted to beautiful women — I just start kissing them, it’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything," he said in the 2005 conversation. "Grab 'em by the pussy."

It is  estimated that North Korea might have produced sufficient fissile material to build 45 to 55 nuclear weapons and might have assembled 20 to 30 warheads for delivery primarily by medium-range ballistic missiles.

Is absence of proof, proof of absence? Do religious people have an advantage in terms of proof?

Look closely at what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:14, "And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain."

Yes they do. Religious folks have nothing to do with proving anything.  That's why it's called faith, not hard facts.

Turkey greenlights Sweden's entry to NATO

Hungary lived under Soviet domination for 45 years after the end of the second world war. It threw off the Russian yoke in 1991 as Soviet troops left the country. In the next decade and a half, Hungary, which has always been squashed in between East and West, worked to ensure its Western orientation.

Living on under 1000 calories a day - is it possible?
-->
@Best.Korea

There was a case in the 1960’s where a man fasted for 382 days. That’s correct – he lived for over a year without food, under medical supervision. You can read the study here.

Living on under 1000 calories a day - is it possible?
study published in June 2016 in JAMA Internal Medicine provided unique insight into what happens to people when they restrict their calories.
The authors reported several important findings. First, and not too surprisingly, the people in the group who ate fewer calories lost more weight. On average, people in this group lost 7.6 kg (16.7 lbs) compared to those in the other group, who lost 0.4 kg (0.9 lbs).
What was even more interesting was the impact of calorie restriction on quality of life. Those who restricted calories reported better moods and less daily tension, and they rated their overall health better throughout the study period.
The calorie-restricted group also reported improved sleep duration and quality. Finally, the calorie-restricted group experienced more sexual drive and arousal, and better sexual relationships, than the other group.

@Best.Korea
As reviewed in Molecular Aspects of Medicine in June 2011, studies show that animals subjected to periods of calorie restriction, including primates, have:
  • Longer lives
  • Higher levels of physical activity
  • Lower rates of cancer
  • Less age-related degeneration of the brain
  • Improved reproductive performance
Some of these findings may seem odd to anyone who's tried to fast or restrict their calories and then felt the early fatigue, weakness, lack of energy, nausea, and stomach pains associated with their efforts.
Keep in mind that the animal studies and observations involved regular periods of calorie restriction followed by, or within the context of, a healthy diet. In other words, the animals’ bodies had time to adapt in a healthy manner to slightly less caloric intake over a long period of time.

My great cousin Albert Einstein once said, "The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this."

Opinion: Iran, Yemen, and the US

 In Iran's 1979 Revolution, essentially, you had a U.S.-allied monarchy, the shah of Iran, that was replaced almost overnight with a viscerally anti-American theocracy, the Islamic Republic of Iran. And from 1979 to the present, the last 45 years, there's essentially been three pillars to Iran's grand strategy. And the first is to try to evict America from the Middle East. The second is to try to replace Israel with Palestine. And the third is to try to bring down the U.S.-led world order.

There’s a commonly held falsehood that men have one less rib than women. This myth may have its roots in the Bible and the creation story about Eve being made from one of Adam’s ribs.

@Mall
People who are homephobic think gayness is a choice. It is not, Males with a genetic condition called androgen insensitivity syndrome can develop female genitalia and are usually brought up as girls, despite being genetically male – with an X and Y chromosome – and they are attracted to men. This suggests that testosterone is needed to “masculinize” a prenatal brain; if that doesn’t happen, the child will grow up to desire men.
Similarly, girls who have a genetic condition called congenital adrenal hyperplasia are exposed to unusually high levels of male hormones like testosterone while in the womb, which may masculinize their brain and increase the odds of lesbianism.
This is poor quality control design. Why would a Creator need 40 trillion cells to create a person?

Once Again, Fighting Abortion
-->
@TheUnderdog
Though all states with abortion restrictions include exceptions for the mother’s life, attempts to implement them show they can be ineffective in practice. Doctors say they wrestle with vague laws; it’s often hard to determine whether a patient’s case qualifies as an exception.
In complicated cases, physicians find themselves weighing patients’ medical conditions against concerns about their own legal liability. The penalties for mistakes are severe: In some states, violating abortion laws is considered a felony, and can be punishable by large fines and between a decade to life in prison.
