That may be true, but the public perception of trusting Fauci/Birx at the time was a passive greenlight for all of their recommendations which the States then based their policies on. Especially of note was the claim that taking the Pharma vaccine would stop/slow the spread when we now know it never did anything of the sort. These same people don’t know who they want but they also know they don’t want Trump.
It's not a meaningless poll for 2 reasons:
1) It also reflects dissatisfaction of independents which make up 40% of the electorate who have no strong ties toward Biden at all..
2) The dissatisfaction with Biden may cause a lot of people of all demographics to not vote this time around, and since Trump vowed to match the ballot harvesting efforts from 2020 DNC, that's a guaranteed loss for Biden this cycle. Biden won the swing states with very small margins in 2020, so he has no room to flub it up in 2024.
