I guess it would be okay to sexually groom children if you have parental consent to permanently associate sex with childhood trauma.

Why does the government have an obligation to support sexual grooming in public schools?

EU nations, Norway, and Switzerland have spending policies very close to this.
(EU) has established the Stability and Growth Pact, which includes fiscal rules for member states. Under the pact, EU member countries are expected to maintain their budget deficits within a specific percentage of GDP, known as the "Excessive Deficit Procedure."
Switzerland has implemented a debt brake rule, which limits government spending to an average of 33% of GDP over a business cycle.

Sadly, the government has taught the voters to borrow to be happy. Many voters do not have enough saved in the bank to cover the replacement of 4 tires. on a car.
The 1920's were like that too.

What is an average government?
One would assume an average government copes.
And that the below average are more likely to need to raise the debt limit.
One would further suggest that if the previously average government can no longer cope then they have dropped below average.

The CEO of Budweiser makes 12 million a year.
The company recently lost 5 billion dollars. The equivilent of over 400 CEOs. Seems like the board tried to skimp and go with a cheap CEO...

CEOs are responsible for making critical decisions, driving company performance, and should be rewarded accordingly. The market for top executive talent is competitive, and high wages are necessary to attract and retain talented individuals. executive pay is often structured to include performance-based elements, such as bonuses, stock options, and incentives tied to specific targets or metrics. These compensation structures provide incentives for CEOs to drive company performance and create value for shareholders. When CEOs are rewarded based on their ability to achieve predetermined goals, it ensures a direct link between pay and performance. the market for top executive talent is highly competitive. Offering competitive compensation packages is necessary to attract and retain talented individuals who can effectively lead and steer complex organizations. Without competitive pay, companies may struggle to attract the best candidates, potentially hindering overall company performance and growth. the high level of responsibility and the impact of these decisions warrant commensurate compensation. Without appropriate incentives, CEOs may not be motivated to take on the immense responsibilities that come with the position. Pay reflects the global nature of business and the need to compete on an international scale. CEOs of multinational corporations must navigate complex global markets, handle geopolitical risks, and manage diverse teams. The challenges and skills required for such roles justify the higher wages offered to CEOs compared to workers in other positions. CEO compensation is typically determined by boards of directors and subject to shareholder approval. these governance mechanisms ensure a level of oversight and accountability. if shareholders believe that CEO wages are excessive or not justified, they have the power to voice their concerns and vote against such compensation packages.

It's no secret SNAP is direct corporate welfare to agriculture.
Another scam involves corporations deliberately underpaying employees and making up the difference with food assistance. Essentially this forces the taxpayers to provide corporate welfare to places like Walmart who do this.

@Kaitlyn
What I would like to see is a hybrid of welfare, minimum wage labor and ubi.
The way it would work is that people have to work, but they can do anything they want to as many hours they want even if it is 1 hour a week, even if it's to watch pigeons all day.
They get paid a "living wage" for doing it and the employer is compensated for the difference between the actual value of the labor and the living wage as if he was a social worker giving a purpose to a handicapped person.

@Savant
Most of the policies that are popular with congress are also popular with big lobby as well.
There is already documentation of smaller businesses being bought up soon after minimum wage laws were passed. The jobs were then trimmed to fit the streamlined large corporations.
Rent control absolutely favors existing corporate building owners who do not have to compete with new construction and also get the chance to buy out smaller owners who are reliant on only tenant rents as they go under.
Loan forgiveness is a straight up cash giveaway to every major College as more students will be willing to borrow more thinking it will cost them nothing to do so. That money then goes right into their hands.
Democrats don't tend to like school choice.
In general, choice and competition is not something the big lobbies support. That is the standard rule.

The average person is not going to be prepared for an economy with a prolonged 5% inflation and a 5% percent Fed interest rate.
So the real answer is neither party.
it's the dems. that's why i usually vote blue.
Oh- to be young enough again to think voting for the good cop over the bad cop made a difference in the end.

if we look at actual statistics we find that NY is one of the safest big cities in the country
That doesn't actually say much if every "Big City" is experiencing crime above the level of an expected norm.
It's like enjoying 2 percent inflation for a decade and one month you get 5 percent inflation, and the next month you have 4.9 percent inflation. It's hard to sell 4.9% inflation as the new norm.

the fact that half the country is enveloped in this apocalyptic rampant crime narratives...
They didn't poll half the country, they polled New Yorkers. if you don't have any insights at to the results of the poll, that is fine, but identifying tangent narratives isn't addressing my point.
John Oliver did a good bit on crime reporting a few weeks back, in part pointing out how every year as crime goes down people’s perception of crime being a major problem goes up.
So why is this the case? Why isn't this narrative landing with New Yorkers?

You're a New Yorker. I was hoping for a little more insight as to why Democrats in New York would answer a poll saying they want to leave due to both crime and living costs beyond the trite and hackneyed "Foxnewsbad" argument, which is not an argument to be taken seriously considering how few New York Democrats are likely to watch and believe Fox News.
