I totally get why the deep state would project their bad traits onto Trump, but why would an average person do that? Unless it's some blind loyalty test to the establishment politicians? I don't get it.

Again, I find it really weird that you are taking known existing traits of current politicians, applying them to Trump, then claiming the "complete puzzle" of bad traits is somehow so much worse than the collection of bad traits endemic to the hundreds of bad politicians in DC. It's a weird thing to focus on. You are admitting DC is fucked up similar to how Trump is fucked up, and that's an acceptable alternative? I say it's marginally better to the point it doesn't really matter.

The problem isn't that the 2nd amendment exists, it's the fact that it's nowhere sufficient enough on its own to promote life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

That's not what I said. I was calling out the fact that Trump has some tendencies that happen to align in parts with existing DC politicians.

If the founding fathers foresaw what happened with Obamacare, an amendment similar to the 2nd A would have been written to say that the right of the people to purchase healthcare shall not be infringed.

When the founding fathers wrote the 2nd Amendment, they were not granting permission for people to defend themselves with guns. They were acknowledging the basic human instinct of survival and freedom that exists in all people which requires no vote, and even if such a vote were taken, 100 percent of living people would have those instincts. Although they were clunky in their wording implying "god" did this and all men are "equal" in these traits, the point still stands. And since it's a basic instinct for a person to protect himself as best as they can, the government should not interfere in this basic universal human need.

The 2nd A is a restriction on government, not a privilege for the people.

If the founding fathers had foreseen what the government in California does today to restrict access to water with a State Board granting water privileges, they may have considered an amendment worded almost exactly the same way.

Anything based on a public referendum is a privilege, and not a right.

There's not a lot of independent voters that truly believe the rule of law starts and ends with Trump. They know it never was before Trump.
