Nobody should be exempt from contributing to society. Everyone should pay their fair share, including the poor.

Is it possible to oppose transgenderism as a solution to gender dysphoria and not be 'transphobic'?
That is basically the definition of bullying in one way, in another it is ironic as that is what transphobes to to trans people via pronouns.
You can dislike or disapprove of something without being afraid of it. Phobias should be reserved for actual fears.

Nobody calls women uglyphobes for not accepting a date.

Just their bosses on behalf of CIA arm twisters.
The WH correspondents dinner is one of the most flagrant examples of the press being manipulated into going along to get along. Anyone who does not gets sent packing. Whether it is overt or covert, the end result is the same as with Russia's press.

@Jeff_Goldblum
There really hasn't been much rational discussion about what the people of Russia want. The only mantra repeated is that Putin is crazy.

Even if you were to believe that is the case, then NATO should have pre-emptively nuked Russia. Since NATO authorities have not done so, it is obvious that Putin isn't nearly as crazy as suggested and that there is a legitimate reason why Russia does not want a massive buildup of NATO forces along its borders.

That’s what happens when the economy is essentially shut down to the point where no one is traveling, completely tanking oil demand.
Guess Democrats better shut down the economy again if they don't want to lose their Oligarchy.

We are all born to be slaves to something.
True. The freed slaves in 1865 suffered without even a historical footnote as they were thrust into a world of accountability with few skills, education, or capital.

Many starved to death without a single mention.

@Benjamin
 People should own their own homes and not need to spend their money paying down another person's debt.
There is a world of difference between "people should own their own homes" and "people should have the OPTION of owning their own homes.
The vast majority of people who believe owning a  house is somehow a fundamental right today have no skills in actually building a home.

The people who own property in America are constantly paying debt in the form of mortgages, maintenance, security, legal fees, depreciation, and property taxes.
Taxes which are also a form of paying  another person's debts.

Some people choose to not have this responsibility and risk, and that is their right as an American. In your dystopia of housing rights, no American has that option to avoid conscription into this role.

Pol Pot once envisioned a world where food was a fundamental right, and forced every person to work in the fields producing food on pain of death. You can read a history book to see how that turned out.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a touching moment of clarity this week, personnel from the Department of Homeland Security Disinformation Governance Board realized that the true disinformation they've been looking for was inside them all along.
"All of my life, I've been searching for disinformation, only to find out that everything I've been looking for was within me from the very beginning. So ironic!" said former Disinformation Czar Nina Jankowicz. "At last, my long journey has brought me full circle, right back to the source of disinformation that was under my nose this entire time. I was the one I was looking for!" Jankowicz then turned and wiped away a single tear.
Sources say the Disinformation Board is being shut down, having completed its 3-week mission to find the source of disinformation. The government will now return to censoring and silencing opposition in secret as they've always done.
According to eyewitnesses, Jankowicz and Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas turned out the last lights in the DGB building, turning around one final time to look on their work with fondness and reflect on how our strange journeys often take us right back to where we started. "Goodbye, old friend. You've taught me so much," said Mayorkas before turning and walking into the sunset.
According to sources, Jankowicz has been offered a full-time job fact-checking memes for Snopes.

@3RU7AL
do you personally think the united states should emulate the chinese hybrid economy ?
It's the other way around though.

Singapore’s economic freedom score is 84.4, making its economy the freest in the 2022 Index. Singapore is ranked 1st among 39 countries in the Asia–Pacific region, and its overall score is above the regional and world averages.
Over the past five years, Singapore’s economy has grown slowly except in 2020, when it contracted. Economic freedom has been maintained at a very high level during that period, at or near the top of the Index. Singapore’s highly developed free-market economy owes its success in large measure to its remarkably open and corruption-free business environment, prudent monetary and fiscal policies, and a transparent legal framework. Trade freedom is strong, and well-secured property rights promote entrepreneurship and innovation effectively. The overall rule of law is undergirded by a high degree of transparency and government accountability.

 "The basic institutions that protect the liberty of individuals to pursue their own economic interests result in greater prosperity for the larger society."

"Economic freedom is the fundamental right of every human to control his or her own labor and property. In an economically free society, individuals are free to work, produce, consume, and invest in any way they please. In economically free societies, governments allow labor, capital, and goods to move freely, and refrain from coercion or constraint of liberty beyond the extent necessary to protect and maintain liberty itself."

1) Higher economic freedom correlates strongly with higher self-reported happiness.
2) According to economists Tomi Ovaska and Ryo Takashima, economic freedom research suggests "that people unmistakably care about the degree to which the society where they live provides them opportunities and the freedom to undertake new projects, strongly with and make choices based on one's personal preferences."
3) Higher economic freedom promotes participation and collaboration.
4) Higher economic freedom is also extremely significant in preventing wars; according to their calculations, freedom is around 54 times more effective than democracy (as measured by Democracy Score) in diminishing violent conflict.

but they are not in any way necessary or even beneficial to such a society.
So we would be better off without Iphones, cars, internet, next day shipping shopping, and thousands of other things because the people that produced them made too much in a given year. I disagree.  Society desperately needs those people, but they do not need people that accumulate wealth without producing anything.

Production taxes are a tax on the progression of society.

The rich" are rich for a reason
This is an extremely lazy way to address this serious topic and the reason why people like the founder of BLM and Joe Biden will never be taxed while basketball players who work their entire lives to provide a high entertainment value are punished from the very first paycheck regardless of the fact that they started with nothing.

Let's discuss the difference between wealth and productivity, because there are plenty of rich people who produced NOTHING of value for society and are rewarded by not paying taxes for it under the current system.

Taxing the rich fallacy.
When progressives say they are taxing the rich, they are really not taxing the rich when looking at income tax. They are taxing production. A person could make a lot in a single year and yet, not have a lot of accumulated wealth or assets.

In order to truly tax the rich, all income taxes, including capital gains, would have to be abolished and replaced with wealth taxes.

I don't think being unable to get a tattoo from a licensed tattooist where the punishment falls on the provider isn't exactly a free speech issue, but I get your point.

What's more fundamental is recognizing just how many constitutional rights ARE provided to minors with personhood being the prerequisite. The arguments about abortion inevitably rest on the idea that a fetus can have the prerequisite of personhood bestowed by the State at some term of the pregnancy. This is a 2 edged sword though, as that would mean all the current constitutional rights Minors enjoy would apply to an unborn fetus, opening up much more potential abuses of the government in an effort to protect those rights.

 The same goes for minors.
What constitutional rights are not afforded to minors? Which rights?

Being born is a prerequisite to our constitutional rights.
Probs has something to do with Jurisdiction in that an American constitution applies to American citizens. Otherwise we would be sending the world police outside our borders to protect everyone's rights. (which we do sometimes whenever we feel like it)

Definitely not. And if Republicans win the House, Senate and WH (which they probably will) there will likely be a national ban.
Maybe, It kind of sucks that it's an easier legislative process for the government to take stuff away from the people than it is to protect people from the government.

The law righteously provides a constitutional right to abortion. It's very hard for me to imagine a scenario in which compelling someone to give birth against their will seems like a legitimate function of the state, and even harder to imagine why an unborn person should have any rights at all.
Do you think the Congress has 2/3 support today to add a Constitutional amendment that has the words "abortion" or "personal autonomy" in it?

How about 75% of the local state legislatures?

And all Biden did was to stop any discussion of alternative treatments that could have saved American lives. Nobody was allowed to discuss alternatives with their doctors simply because big pharma told Biden to censor everything.
