1) Hart-Celler act plus minimum wage along with the abolishment of right to work laws (all heavily supported by big business lobbies) to prevent Blacks from participating in a merit-based economy.

What's kinda funny is the recent series of The Falcon and the Winter soldier. There were multiple narrative episodes blaming white people for why a Black family couldn't make money fishing in Louisiana, when the fact of the matter is America took in hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese refugees in the 70's where many resettled in the only cultural place they know: Along the Gulf shores fishing. Almost all local fishing in Louisiana is done by about 24,000 Vietnamese families living on family fishing boats, not "whites"

The underlying assumption for why we are currently on day 520 of "slowing the spread" is that there exists a significant amount of people are not exposed to Covid-19.
Now that the evidence is clear that there isn't a significant amount of people not exposed to Covid-19, and probably hasn't been for a long time, a new reason to continue the policy with a Delta variant has to be presented to sell the policy to the people. Thus perpetuating a never-ending policy of "slow the spread," as there will always be viral variants.
So you have to wonder why it's more necessary to be in a perpetual state of "slowing the spread" instead of reducing our national viral risk 90% by going on a diet?
