Biden policy update
-->
@sadolite
"Announced new executive orders for school and business reopening plans."

This is number 16 on the Biden wall of text shame list.

Unfortunately, Biden stopped listening to the science and started listening to the School Unions, so that executive decision is not valid anymore for helping American taxpayers.

Wicker V Filburn allows the government to create indentured servants with the full force of the Army behind them by forcing individual people to produce what the government says you must produce and buy what the government says you must buy. The end of the American Dream.

Most rational Historians agree the official end of the  American Dream was precisely when Wickard v. Filburn gave the Federal Government the Constitutional Authority to regulate life, liberty, and happiness on an individual level.

Which one of TRUMP'S labor nominees do you consider PRO-LABOR?
Any one of them that have created a job is pro-labor.

What "Constitutional regulations" are you in favor of?
Ones that do not deprive Americans of the pursuit of happiness by destroying competition with subsidies and regulations.

The original intent of the Commerce Clause was to make “normal” or “regular” commerce between the states; thus it was designed to promote trade and exchange not restrict it. Further, it was specifically aimed at preventing the states from enacting impediments to the free flow of “commerce” such as tariffs, quotas and taxes.

The clause was specifically meant as a check on the abuse of State power to enact crony economics. NOT as permission to regulate individuals!

Please at least attempt to answer the question before brandishing your next vague RED-HERRING.
Ok well then explain why whenever and where ever competition is allowed to exist that the Unionized industries consistently go bankrupt without government subsidies. It's precisely because the Union has both no incentive mechanism for attracting workers that produce more than the communist collectively bargained wage and also no mechanism for penalizing workers that do not produce at the level of the collective wage.

Adam Smith said an economy without incentives is an economy of fiat.

Doesn't organized crime thrive in unregulated markets?
It does thrive when there is nothing to regulate the government once the Constitutional regulations are shredded.

What's your proposed solution to CRONYISM?
Reduce organized crime by reducing the government's ability to interfere with economics as the founding fathers intended.

The main objection to Unions (FROM CORPORATE LOBBYISTS) is that they pay workers too much and THEREFORE cost the executives their extra fat juicy PROFITS.
Again false.

The main objection is that corporations are forced to pay exactly half of their workers too much at the expense of the other half of the workers that they would like to reward and keep from leaving. Unions promote a race to the bottom for work talent. The competition that isn't hamstrung from unions can snipe off all the best workers with better wages. Collective bargaining always ensures one worker is getting a good deal at the expense of another worker. It's bullshit communism.

No, it isn't lol. If you listen to workers actually fucked over by Unions then you know that the one size fits all solution of a Union is bullshit and unfair in a world of diverse individuals.

I'm nostalgic for a time in the future when we all collectively and individually forget the word "CONSUMER" and instead replace it with the proper term "WORKER".
That equivalency is already here since most workers have outsourced their personal responsibility to save for their future.  Then they wonder why they are not in control of anything.

I'd prefer not to be fired on a fucking whim.

Then either invest in job security by producing more than you are worth or take all the risks of employment upon yourself.

I'd prefer not to work in an obviously toxic and or otherwise deadly workspace.
Then choose not to. And don't mock the people that do choose to have a different risk-reward matrix than yourself. Everyone is an individual.

It's way more common than you would like to accept. Unions subsidize these broken people.

5,333 workers died on the job in 2019. Workers make bad choices and take risky jobs all the time. Who would you like to be in charge of your risk-reward analysis? Biden perhaps?

Is that what you are nostalgic for?

Maybe you can be happy locked up in your house while you are content with the "benefits" you earn.

VERY CORPORATION ON PLANET EARTH IS MORE THAN HAPPY TO PAY A SOMEWHAT HIGHER BASE SALARY IF IT GIVES THEM THE FLEXIBILITY TO FIRE ANYONE AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON (OR NO-REASON AT ALL).
The number one reason people get fired is from problems stemming from a deeply held belief that they are way more productive than they actually are. These are the people that end up being subsidized by productive workers in a union instead of being justifiably fired.

Most people are far more focused on short term $$$ and forget about their personal disaster recovery plan until it's way too late.
If it's your employer's responsibility to look after your long-term welfare, why even care about things like job security or programs to advance in your career then since it's not your responsibility? Another reason why benefits are a scam against the worker.

"employee benefits package"

If you had a choice between actual money or benefits you may or may not need....what would you choose?

The fact employers can sell these benefits as an alternative compensation for your labor is proof that unions are bad at bargaining.

Yes. They took $10 a week when I got zero benefits and made exactly minimum wage. After I went to a non union job I got an automatic raise.
The costs of working for a union are far more than your weekly union dues. Unions force everyone with skills to subsidize with their more productive labor the workers with less invested skills or ambition for productivity. Everyone gets paid collectively with a wage in the middle of those skills. It's a great gig if you happen to know you are worth less than you are paid.

Union bosses make their members feel like they were able to somehow "screw the corporation" but in reality, everyone has a bottom line whether unions exist or not.

@ILikePie5
What lessons will Americans draw from the 2001 Microsoft case?

Don’t be too successful. Success creates envy and attracts government regulators, who seem driven to attack the most productive people in our society. Bill Gates draws praise from the cultural elite when he gives away his money — and he has given away more than $20 billion — but he has done far more good for the world by creating and marketing something useful for the entirety of society than by giving away some of the profits he earned.

Hire a lobbyist. For about 20 years Gates and his colleagues just sat out there in “the other Washington,” creating and selling. As the company got bigger, Washington, D.C., politicians and journalists began sneering at Microsoft’s political innocence. A congressional aide once told the press, “They don’t want to play the D.C. game, that’s clear, and they’ve gotten away with it so far. The problem is, in the long run they won’t be able to.” Politicians told Bill Gates, “Nice little company ya got there. Shame if anything happened to it.” And Microsoft got the message: If you want to produce something in America, you’d better play the game. In 1995, after repeated assaults by the Federal Trade Commission and the Justice Department, Microsoft broke down and started playing the Washington game. It hired lobbyists and Washington PR firms. Its executives made political contributions. And every other high‐tech company is getting the message, too, which is great news for lobbyists and fundraisers.

What lesson should they draw?

The antitrust laws are fatally flawed. When our antitrust laws are used by competitors to harm successful companies, when our most innovative companies are under assault from the federal government, when lawyers and politicians decide to restructure the software, credit‐card and airline industries, it’s time to repeal the antitrust laws and let firms compete in a free marketplace.

Janet Reno didn’t send a SWAT team to Redmond in the middle of the night. But the bottom line is the same: She used the power of government to steal what the people at Microsoft created.

Government simply plays the role of mercenary in their pitched-battle to eliminate small and mid-sized businesses.

Microsoft is a good example of this.
It's a horrible example of this. Microsoft never even thought about laundering money to the Federal government campaign coffers with lobbies until the Government Extorted them with Anti-Trust laws simply for having a better product and having a large market share at the time. Having the dominant market share is not a monopoly. A monopoly is when you have 100% of the market share.
Microsoft never forced OEM computer manufacturers to purchase their products. They simply underbid the competition by making their OS a lot less expensive than current alternatives at the time. Everything Microsoft did to dominate the market was 100 percent legal with no force.

It's the corporations that are forced to lobby to survive actually playing the role of mercenary lobbies for Washington DC power.

Too big to fail is only a direct result and the expected outcome of a crony government picking and choosing which monopolies are allowed to exist that they can extort the most out of. There are NO other reasons for it.

I think some of them used briberies and political manipulation. For example how drug companies hate competition, so they petitioned for laws that make competition impossible by making drug manufacturing cost billions to bring to market.
Only because the Government demanded a kickback. Did you watch the short video I posted on how that giant Microsoft lobby building came to be? Washington DC came after Microsoft, not the other way around. The other tech giants learned not to fight back. Same with other corporations. The message is clear. Either pay the government a significant share of the profits by lobbying to help Washington DC retain power, or lose your competitive advantage. Those laws restricting competition either through regulations or subsidies are the only way Washington DC can ensure the flow of loyal support and the flow of campaign funds from the major producers, investors, and job creators in America while helping to artificially preserve an aged, oligarchical, bureaucratic monopoly nobody really wants but are not allowed to substitute.

How would you generally and objectively quantify their purported "interest in improving society in some way"?
By the number of people choosing to purchase their products.

Or do you just take their word for it?
That would be a Washington D.C. politician that has no need to sell anything beneficial except trust and complacency.

It's not much of an "election" when people don't even know what they're voting for.
Do you shop with your eyes closed?

If I borrow money from my rich friends and I use that money to "sponsor legislation" that basically puts my competition out of business, and then I lock up the markets so I basically have a captive audience, are those customers really "voting" for me?
Washington DC works very hard to make sure you do not hurt yourself. Shouldn't they demand to be compensated by wealthy corporations?

I don't think that is conservatism.
It isn't. Conservatism today means conserving traditional values from the enlightened thinkers of Western Civilization that the founding fathers created the country on.

Liberalism is today focused on ramming postmodernist bullshit down our throats in an effort to destroy those western proscribed values.

I think the only real objection to the Act is that it destroys Title IX protections for women by allowing trans-women to use the same metric as women. I think it's fine though since most women think there are negligible biological differences anyway. Most women shouldn't mind sharing the road.

The religious freedom arguments don't really hold water.
