I joined the debate, I expect an Instigator's argument. I'm not going to begin my case until this is resolved.

Here's a video to explain it. .9999... is a number, not a real one. It explains basic calculus as well, as that's the method used to prove this.
https://www.khanacademy.org/math/math-for-fun-and-glory/vi-hart/infinity/v/9-999-reasons-that-999-1

It explains that it is true, but requires more in depth math to truly understand and apply. What you said is true, but the methods aren't true.

Well, the definition's can go both ways. The definition's could be skewed toward either side. Depends on how your opponent uses the topic itself and all it's description.

Well, legalizing Marijuana is a huge increase to revenue, something we desperately need. Gun Control can go both ways, I don't usually take a stance from the off-chance of a far-right or far-left attacking me.

You forgot a key factor. A number infinitely close to 1 but isn't 1 is technically outside the real numbers category, therefore you can't convert it as could be done with normal mathematics. Yes, irrational numbers can be done so, but they are considered Real Numbers as well. .99999999999, forever, is NOT considered a, "real number." And therefore can not be simplified to one.

Infinity (which is the case with 9.99.....) is not considered a real number, as you can't add or subtract 1 from infinity. It's still infinity, regardless. There's no end to 9.99...... as the 9's can continue on forever. So, using math for real number's don't apply.

That's literally the point of a law.

I'm not taking part in the debate. I'm just stating the facts. What I stated is what a theory and law mean. Nothing I said in that sentence was to be persuasive.

@billbatard

A law is something that can be proven mathematically, or predicts something using other scientific laws, practices, or mathematical predictions.

A Scientific Theory is something that tries to explain what just happened.

Theories are used when we gather hypotheses and compile them if they have a common end. For instance, I notice that on a certain day every month, that the Moon is in its full. Many Gathered Hypotheses lead me to a Theory about how fast or slow the moon moves relative to my position. It may not be true, but my hypotheses always make it out to be.

So, in short, Theories explain how things happen, and Laws explain things and why they do it using math.

No, I haven't seen all of hunter x hunter yet, but it's fine. I know the basics. I understand the plot. Spoilers don't make me angry as much anymore, now that someone spoiled Endgame for me.

No, each debate will be overall. Round 1-5 will be about the entire series.

Fist of the North Star (FNS) is a great anime to watch. It's like old time-y one punch man. And the main character (Kenshiro) is a lot more badass

When you remove Fist of the North star...

You are already dead.
