Good for them. Wont affect my life. Govt never does anything that would benefit me no matter who runs it. I am better off without govt. I don't want anything from it. Govt is a virus that kills humanity.

I think the depressing of American wages should certainly be  the last option
Bringing the supply of labor into balance will not “depress” wages. It will stabilize wages.

I wouldn't overfocus on the supply and demand framing of economics.
It is a fundamental “law” when in comes to prices. It’s Economics 101.

People are concerned about inflation. Then they need to look at supply and demand. This is like Newton’s Laws on physics

So supply and demand has a bit of merit,
You need to go back to school then.

You want to combat inflation by flooding the job market which will cause decreased wages for Americans already struggling.
Am I understanding this plan correctly?
yes, we need to bring the supply and demand for labor into balance. That’s how you stop inflation for any product or service.

Democrats Are Performing SO HORRIBLY That Even The Head of Strategizing Lost Reelection IN NEW YORK
-->
@ILikePie5
No objective person can look at Florida’s map and say it’s gerrymandered. Geographical limits doesn’t equal gerrymandering. Protecting community interest doesn’t equal gerrymanderinf
That’s bullshit. DeSantis deliberately broke up black districts to weaken black political power and protect white community interests. It was blatantly unconstitutional but the state courts didn’t care.  In the south, it isn’t against the law to be racist and pass laws that disadvantage groups based on race.

My whole point is red states have laws and constitutions that make it legal to discriminate based on race or partisan politics and blue states do not allow
such discrimination. You might as well be defending white-only drinking fountains because “it’s the law” so it’s legal.

Democrats Are Performing SO HORRIBLY That Even The Head of Strategizing Lost Reelection IN NEW YORK
The GOP needed to net just five seats to flip control of the House, and seven were nearly handed to them by New York and Florida alone—because one court stepped in to force a pro-Republican gerrymander and another court refused to step in and stop one. And all the while, the Supreme Court says it’s not its problem that Republicans are jamming the levers of democracy.

@ILikePie5
You also realize that the people of New York put this issue on the ballot.
Yes, the people of New York i.e. Democrats, try to be fair. They passed this new process. Florida has no such lofty goals.

“Under a process passed by voters in 2014, New York's new district maps were supposed to have been drawn by an independent commission. But that body, made up of equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans, couldn't agree on one set of maps”

“In a handful of other states, (Florida) courts ruled that Republicans had gerrymandered maps but did not enforce those rulings, but in New York, the judges insisted the lines be redrawn this year“

“Cuomo had struck a corrupt bargain with Senate Republicans a decade ago to put in place a flawed redistricting process AND appointed the conservative judges who struck down the lines”

“The final map was drawn by a Carnegie Mellon postdoctoral fellow named Jonathan Cervas, who was appointed as a special master by the state’s Supreme Court. What Cervas produced was immediately viewed as disastrous for Democrats“

In 2019, the US Supreme Court allowed unfettered political gerrymandering without federal court oversight in Rucho v. Common Cause. The Rucho case ruled gerrymanders “nonjusticiable,” which means that as long as legislatures claim they drew their maps for purely political reasons, those maps cannot be challenged in federal court for constitutional violations (they can still be challenged in state court, but that doesn’t necessarily help under all state Constitutions). It set the stage for red states to aggressively redraw their maps, unconstitutional disenfranchisement of voters be damned.

“…the Florida legislature drew a redistricting map that largely preserved the pre-Census congressional districts, giving Republicans a slight but not overwhelming advantage in representation. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis wouldn’t accept those legislative maps and ordered them redrawn. The DeSantis approved map “cracked” half of the state’s majority Black districts and split them up among overwhelmingly Republican districts. The new districts paid off, netting Republicans three additional seats in Congress on Tuesday night”

The DeSantis gerrymander was challenged in court—but it was state court because of the Rucho decision. Since conservatives control the Florida state supreme court, they handed DeSantis and the Republican party a victory in the redistricting case.

I don't give a shit about the price. I care about the supply. And you have no answer for why independent drillers are not drilling right now.
Mike Oestmann, CEO of private-equity-backed Tall City Exploration, said "he isn’t concerned about running out of inventory but estimates the costs to drill a well and bring it online are up about 40% over past year(2021) because of soaring costs for material and labor"
Oh whoopsie, did Biden accidentally break something again? whoopsie doodle doo
So these small oil companies go up to him and say "Yo Joe, you know that whole lockdown and then paying people to not work plus printing trillions and devaluing the dollar that kinda screwed us...can we like, get some relief on permit costs or something?"
Old Joe: "Nah, we good, but I heard Exxon was hiring, I might know a guy"
Oh the brain power!

Ya well Democrats try to be fair and set an example for good governance. I think it’s crazy if the other side (red states)doesn’t do it too.

Florida is not even close to a gerrymander lol. The maps look a million times better than NY and IL.
Well if you are talking about the shape of the district that s not the sole indicator of a gerrymandered district

Very true, so why are they not drilling since small independent drillers can't lower the price of oil by drilling?
Are you stupid? Never mind I already know the answer to that.

Who says they aren’t drilling? But Small drillers don’t matter when it comes to influencing the price of gasoline. We are talking about the big oil companies refusing to drill so they can keep prices elevated, pad profits, pay dividends to investors, and do stock buybacks.

Look, all I want is sanity. All I want is reality. You don’t have to agree with me but we have to agree that a fact is a fact, starting with the Big Lie. The lie that the election was rigged. Such nonsense. Nobody can believe the Big Lie and retain a thread of credibility. And once you reject the Big Lie you must reject Trump and see him as a threat to our country because of what he tried to do.

Saying Trump was better than Bush or Paul Ryan weakens our democracy and puts us all at risk and must be rejected forcefully. If you say Trump wasn’t that bad or try to minimize what he did you should immediately be escorted from the public square with a dunce cap on your head.

Yes Bush was bad. He was the worst President we ever had until Trump came along but he wasn’t a subversive. He wasn’t a naked self dealer. He was stupid but he wasn’t corrupt. He didn’t lie 30,000 times in 4 years.

When Tony Kinnett reports, "according to a press release by the Hamilton County GOP and confirmed by the election administrator, James was told by the inspector not to return Friday..."  He failed to note that the secretary issuing the GOP press release and the election adminstrator confirming that press release's details were, in fact, the same woman.
The old Dick Cheney trick.

He leaks information to a reporter then cites that reporter as proof that something is true.

If Trump runs as an independent, so be it. It will sink the Republicans, but it will also prove that Trump will put himself before his country and his party.

But what am I saying? That has been incredibly obvious since before he announced his candidacy in 2015, and has only gotten more obvious since. The damage that he has done to the Republican party will take a long time to undo, if it can be undone at all.

Now this is the kind of statement the country needs to hear from conservatives. Bravo! The opposite of what thett3 said above in post #166

The senate is more than enough proof of that. I’ve seen a lot of rage directed towards Trump so hopefully his spell is finally breaking. It’s time to move on from him!
You never should have moved to him to begin with, wouldn’t you say?

Republicans will need to deal with their choices in much the same way defeated Germany was forced to reconcile and reflect on their choices. There needs to be a reckoning and some people need to be held responsible for bringing Trump to the head of our government.

Trump supporters need to apologize
Trump cabinet members need to find a new line of work out of politics or government
Trump’s inner circle needs to become persona non grata

Think of corporate executives who were determined to be so destructive and harmful that they were banned from ever working in their industry again.

An example - Frank Lorenzo was banned from running airlines in this country because of what he did to Eastern Airlines

Here you go genius - oil companies reluctant to drill.

“… a sizable number of oil and gas executives are saying they won't increase production at any price, according to a survey released this week by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.“

“…many companies are choosing to enjoy their high profits rather than increase the supply of oil.”

“…major oil companies are also sending $50 billion in dividends to shareholders, and are on track to buy back $38 billion in stock this year, a move that further boosts investors' coffers by increasing the value of their holdings.”

“The Dallas Fed survey echoes recent comments from fossil-fuel CEOs, many of whom have pledged not to increase output in order to preserve profits”

In the Age of Information, ignorance is a choice.

A pro-parent group. Lol. More like pro wack job.

This article is so shoddy we are going to have to assume the reporter didn’t do due diligence in determining the facts and writing the story.

For example:

1. “Sheller said that voters and volunteers who identified this individual directly interfered with the voting process.“

As written, the reporter is telling us the voters and volunteers were the ones who interfered with the voting process.

2. “…James was told by the inspector not to return Friday or Monday to the early voting center set up at Mercy Road in Carmel. In a later November 6 statement released on social media, Zheng denied these allegations.

As written, the reporter referred to the suspended volunteer as both James and as Zheng, having confused his first name James for his last name.

From the Democratic Party press release in the article, it appears the wack jobs outside the polling station were the ones breaking the law and disrupting the polling center.

Making money by producing stuff is their only job.
Right, but they are making money by NOT producing stuff, to cut supply and drive up prices. That’s my point. The airline industry does this too. By supplying less seats we make more money by driving up the price. Marine if power companies did that. Now whoever can pay the highest price gets electricity and others have to go without.

Crony Capitalism is still in full swing with the recent subsidies to corporate green energy and the shutting out of the competition of fossil energy
That’s nonsense. Coal companies are the ones looking for welfare. And oil companies  get tons of welfare from the government too.

Unlikely as then politicians would lose their jobs for "destroyin da planet"
It's the same reason NEPA restrictions are never rolled back.
Also the same reason no modern Nuclear plants are not considered.

Instead, officials with the Department of Driver Services, the Secretary of State’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office implemented automatic voter registration administratively through the driver’s license application form. The change was made to ensure compliance with the National Voter Rights Act of 1993, which requires state governments to offer voter registration opportunities when residents apply for or renew a driver’s license, said Susan Sports, a spokeswoman for the DDS.

Ha, Georgia  was forced to do this so to compensate they deleted thousands of people who were already registered. Classic!

Is difficult for you to understand. Even though they were flagged, they could still vote anyways. So what is the difference if they were flagged, considering the overwhelming majority of Georgians (all but 10,000 of them) have a valid ID anyways.
Is it difficult for you to understand that if you never receive anything from the registras office you are less likely to even make an effort to go to the pollls?

Have you ever not gotten a bill in the mail and then didn’t make the payment on time because the bill never arrived?

More than 1.4 million people were removed from Georgia's voting rolls between 2012 and 2018 because they stopped participating in elections among other reasons.

This is from your Politifact fact check article:

Kemp has drawn scrutiny for the high number of voters removed from the voter rolls during his tenure because they skipped previous elections and had no contact with the election officials. By the end of 2017, about 670,000 people, or about 10 percent of voters, were removed from the rolls. Voting rights advocates raised alarms about the massive purge, while Kemp defended the responsibility of election officials to maintain voter rolls.

The state also flagged 53,000 registrations as part of a 2017 law that requires exact matches for a person based on state and Social Security records. The Associated Press found that the majority of those flagged voters were African-American. Mismatches occurred over differences as small as a missing hyphen. We can’t know how many eligible voters would have shown up and cast ballots for Abrams if they were not removed or were confused by the exact match law.

If they weren’t registered then they wouldn’t have gotten any information or ballots from the state thus depressing the turnout of these black people.

So Kemp took aim at 725,000 mostly minority voters to suppress their vote.
