Um no you can be hospitalized and not need a ventilator for a whole host of other issues with both the flu and Covid... Something as simple as needing fluids takes up hospital space.

Gotta grow up.
The only adults who skate are people who went pro or people who are bums lol

With our tiny sample size so far, the fatality rate and rate of complication in COVID-19 are far, far higher than the flu.
But the flu as we know it has been around for a hundred years and we have infinite amounts of data on it, ways to combat it, treatments, vaccines. The flu holds no surprises for us anymore. Covid does. The raw numbers so far have it way, way more concerning than the flu at this point.

During a time of crisis? Bad time to make a point. I see where you're coming from but rising above the petty political jargon of governors is what makes a good leader, not taking the worst possible time to make a political point.

That's the point I was... Never mindDo you fail to recognize the difference between denial and lack of belief ?

You're missing my point but yes, if we want to boil this down to trite semantics yes. That is the dictionary definition. *Yawn*

No, if you go back and re-read my previous posts I think I was pretty clear. But don't strain yourself.

Agreed. It's easy to debate something you ardently believe. Arguing the opposite and winning is MasterCraft.

The issue is that most Americans don't use restraint. They aren't financially literate. So where responsible people like you and I don't carry a balance there are 10, 20 a 100 other people who will and will get into trouble with them.
But that's their perogative.

But again, my clumping certain atheists in the religious category has to do with the strength and conviction in their denial of God(s).

Technically yes. The way I see it.

It doesn't frighten me. I find it funny that they spend so much time knocking religion when they're part of they're own. It's delicious irony.

I think music lyrics definitely get a pass. A lot of music objectifies women and treats them like conquests, sex objects and things to be left alone and picked up at the singer's leisure. This has been going on for decades and has skated under the radar of the MeToo movement so far.
Country, Hip Hop and Rap are all major offenders in this area.

It is definitely because the guns looks scary.
No one ever wants to regulate shotguns, which I would argue, could cause the same if not more damage in an enclosed space as a rifle during a mass shooting.... since that is what they use as the basis for their anti-gun rhetoric.

Anyone who truly doesn't care about religion or doesn't believe in god in a passive way doesn't hang around religious forums.
Even if you don't believe in god, the fact that you are here means that you hold a conviction about it.
To me real a-theists, as you put it, are simply people who don't believe in a way that is so convicted that they must be here.
There are millions of atheists who truly don't believe and furthermore don't care, they are not here.
Then there are those who are here.
See the difference I'm trying to point out?

I doubt that so quickly. I'd be a tiny bit surprised if you figured it out that fast but I don't think you have.

Only you would make an AMA with a new account and tag it with your old account name my friend.
Here's your challenge. Figure out who I was in our past DDO life. Doesn't have to be today or tomorrow or next week but if you can figure it out I'll give you mad props.

No atheism is belief that there is no god. Lack of belief is simply that... Lack of belief. No conviction. If you don't know or care if something exists, do you spend time bringing it up? No.
For example. Say there is a man in the high Asian stepped who claims he is decended from Ghengis Khan and is the one true God and the world's savior. If I told you that and you said "nah I don't believe that" would you spend another second thinking about it? No. You hear things daily that you don't believe or care for and don't spend another thought on it.
Atheism is different. It is a deep convicted belief that there is no god just as strong as belief in a god.

@Polytheist-Witch
Atheism is a religion. They put just as much thought and energy into trying to convince everyone that their (lack of God) is the God as religious people do. The truly areligious are the ones who really don't give either the time of day

Simply put - there is too much tragedy in the world for us to cover it all. The exhaustion factor would be 10 fold what it is now. To be honest there is a general lack of coverage for all African news unless you read al Jazeera.
New Zealand is a western nation that suffered from an attack that is similar to what the US has seen. That's why it got the coverage it did.
