The "pride" is in response to the long oppression that gays have felt and is a celebration of being able to live as they choose.
Saying the "gay community" is "bad" is so far reaching and general that it is impossible to argue. Firstly, the "gay community" is made up of individuals with all kinds of personality traits. Also "bad" has no real meaning at all. Bad for who and in what way?
