Maximizing output is ideally supposed to be checked,
The baker in Capitalism isn't supposed to murder strangers who pass by, and cook them in a pie,
Even if such 'maximizes his profit.
Capitalism is often thought of as an economic system in which private actors own and control property in accord with their interests, and demand and supply freely set prices in markets in a way that can serve the best interests of society.
The essential feature of capitalism is the motive to make a profit. As Adam Smith, the 18th century philosopher and father of modern economics, said: “It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest.”

Our taking issue with them,
Is where Capitalism is 'ideally supposed to balance itself,
We 'are supposed to impose some regulations,
We are supposed to boycott certain businesses.
It is my view that you are presenting Capitalism as Unrestrained Capitalism.
Though I'm a bit fond of Laissez-faire myself, so long as the Laissez-faire takes into account my burning down the capitalists house if they go to far.

It's a stated oath of care between two people and their progeny,
Though there exist many variants,
Because of human biology, history, psychology,
Humans might have a preference for one man, one women, and their children.
I've read sci fi books before, where aliens have different norms,
Like lion aliens where it's one male and many females,
The females go out as traders,
While the make stays home in comfort,
But then the males don't really get 'allowed to be traders,
And have to fight other males to the death occasionally.
. . . . . But my derailed thought was I can imagine aliens having different preferences.
But I think humans might have preferences,
Even if individuals sometimes like 'many partners,
Seems common enough for humans to have jealousy and refuse to share,
Because of genetic love of one's 'own offspring more than others.
Also we don't do that other humans are property as much anymore.
. . . Though I suppose during some time periods, it wasn't about women being 'property, but duty to family, humans would die a lot more, bad medicine, war, wild animals,
And males often the ones taking those risks, though women had plenty of risks,

Not always bad, but can be bad.
Can stifle innovation, stifle individual daring risk.
Can lead to mass forcing the population, because they not 'matter as much as 'Collective.
Can lead to killing all the sparrows.

Suppose someone has an idea,
Whether it's to go fish in the sea or to build a light bulb.
I can imagine Socialism saying,
Well we don't have money, and don't allow money,
So you can't sell it even if you fish it/invent it.
You can fish or build light bulbs if you want, but then we'll have to appropriate them from you (No private property either)
And then the higher up socialists eat the fish and use the light bulbs,
While everyone else has to eat potatoes and use candles.

Ideally the capitalist produces good product at good prices with good service,
Since the customer is also free to buy or not.
Capitalists still exist within society,
And so over time are often required to fall into guidelines,
Such as no child labor.
Capitalism 'can be bad,
When capitalists cut corners or treat employees badly,
But ideally such businesses don't thrive.
Capitalism to my view, is a fairly neutral term, that can go either way.

A farmer owns a piece of land,
He sells crops for money (Capitalism),
He wants to live on his land and keep living his way of life,
He wants his son to live on the land and keep living his way of life,
He takes care of the land so he can keep living his way of life,
And his son can keep living his way of life.
There 'are people who do this.

Why didn't the south declare an emancipation proclamation, Once the war was going poor?
Lots of Confederates would rather lose perhaps.
“What did we go to war for, if not to protect our property?” Another suggested, “If slaves will make good soldiers, our whole theory of slavery is wrong.”
"Better by far to yield to the demands of England and France and abolish slavery, and thereby purchase their aid, than to resort to this policy,"
And it might have been a too late considered idea.
Well, also could have backfired real easy.

Well, just because I can't say everyone likes/should like/should eat pizza,
Doesn't mean everyone does such,
Works as a rule of thumb though, with some people.
Certainly taste still exists.
(Practically speaking and ignoring certain ideas of nihilism)
Well, if when one says morality, they are speaking of Gods morality,
God infusing everything, being everything, effecting everything or whatever,
It's practical enough, and the appeal to authority becomes a bit as appeal to gravity.
Course gravity isn't 'everyw- Well maybe it is.
But people tend to appeal to something, sun is pretty big, lot of force,
God in many claims is pretty big, lot of force.
Certainly people have long had questions of God and existence,
See Job in the Bible,
. . .
Still, my intention with the Out of curiosity questions,
Is I think at times, that it is easier to convince someone,
If you know something about them and their beliefs.
Also I was considering going the Dostoevsky, Kierkegard route in convincement,
Not that I hold such views myself, but I find them interesting,
And suggesting them to someone else, forces me to look at them myself.

Keep applying, keep making contact with people connected to the job you want.
Unfortunately many doors are not like those outhouses with the occupied/unoccupied lock.
Though fortunately they are unlike outhouse doors, in that getting in is sometimes just a matter of force,
With how many jobs have point systems, of your past experience, education interview,
Then one is sometimes able to stack their deck, apply more force to their attempt at the door.
Would moving be an option,
From what I read of it, Actuarial Science doesn't sound 'too narrow a field, that there isn't job opening 'somewhere,
A friend of mine's wife used to work on some island off the coast of Alaska,
Though perhaps one might not want to suffer a move or certain locations,
Experience 'is big with some employers.

Part time job until then?
Though I admit some doors won't open, even if one waits,
Difficult identifying such doors,
Since some do open.

What about being a math teacher,
There's nothing that stops you from 'continuing to apply to jobs more in your field,
But staying in some math job, keeps you more relevant for that field,
Than if you became a park ranger.
Or could go for some other math job, that's not quite Mathematics, Actuarial Science,
Again keeping you in your field.
. .
Although even forest rangers might use a guy who does Mathematics, Actuarial Science,
Somewhere, then it's just about moving slightly, into the other job when/if there's an opening.
/ /
"Most actuaries focus on insurance, but they are also found in consulting firms, government agencies, pension companies, or other industries that need to evaluate risks in unique situations."
"They’re responsible for assessing risk and uncertainty using mathematical models that quantify potential outcomes. They might predict things like how many people will die from a certain disease next year, or estimate the cost of natural disasters."
. . . . .
Maybe there are more degrees, classes, qualifications, workshops you could do dealing with Actuarial Science.
Meeting people in one's field or related to your field can be valuable,
Rubbing shoulders and letting people know your want of a job, networking,
And fulfilling that high bar employers have sometimes, (blasted bar).

Maybe something related to your qualifications/degrees, past jobs, interests?
My Dad's long told me I should become a a phlebotomist, but I never liked drawing blood in the military, even on healthy people with good veins, doubt I'd like the civilian sector.
I also didn't like dealing with depressed, suicidal, homicidal, crazy people, even worse civilian side, patients probably obey less and are probably crazier.
I didn't like stocking shelves, employer kept employing me on days I said I didn't want, and not having two people to a two person (Minimum) job.
Working at a golf course sounds nice to me, pretty scenery, not much to do some days maybe.
A friend of mine hated being a teacher, so did my Dad, politics in dealing with people sounded like.
My Dad liked being a prison guard, though I wouldn't want to be one, too much danger, looks too depressing.
. . .
I disliked a lot in the military, having to obey people, show deference, work out on other people time schedule, be places on days off.
Paid well though.

It changes over times,
Currently I'm really enjoying Age of Empires 2 (Definitive Edition).
I'm pretty bad at it, but I'm still enjoying it.
I'm just not interested in getting too skilled at it, learning build order and ideal troop type numbers.
Same with Mortal Kombat, I never learned how to juggle.
But again, been fun.
Three games stand out recently,
One, 1 V 1 Arena,
Where I played Teutons and the enemy kept spamming huskarls and pikemen, teutonic knights, monks, and rams made short work of them.
If they'd changed their strategy earlier, I'd not have been surprised by them winning, their score was twice mine.
Two, 4 V 4 Arena,
When an enemy built a castle near my walls, but I managed to muster a number of rams and troops to bring it down,
Then they built a second castle, right next to my walls,
I just deleted 3 of my walls, and using my rams, brought it down quick, rebuilt my walls.
Three, 4 V 4 Black Forest,
I managed to build walls pretty far ahead, and an enemy took umbrage with that, tried to take it down, but I defended and sallied forth twice,
Interrupting their boar hunt, and later stealing a cow.
Ended up winning those three,
But my win ration is actually pretty bad, ah well, still fun.

Organisms that develop at a different age of maturation than humans,
I find disturbing,
Due to the variation from what is the 'norm to me, I suppose.
Idea has occurred to me other times in life,
But most recent occurred while reading a debate,
Fairly common trope though, in sci fi, fantasy, odd literature,
And of course occurs in real life.

I wonder what people in past points in history, would have thought of artificial satellites.
Since they could only have observed them as blinking seeming lights among the skies other lights,
Stars, comets.
At some point they would have invented telescopes,
Yet early still ideas, theories, of the heavens,
Or if recognizing the satellites as constructs,
What writings, reasons, might have come about.

Is it a problem that deontology, consequentialism, and virtue ethics are more as categories,
Than individual reasons?
(I 'think they are more category than individual reasons)
A person could think of 100 reasons in one category, then 1 and 1 in the other two.
The problem for me, is that there seem to be pretty big number of 'reasons one can have for an action, I won't say infinite, but a lot.
. . .
Or a person could also think of a reason to, and a reason not, in each category.
. .
In the end our caprice wills,
Our heart scales that sway up, down,
From reason weights placed, taken,
Ought we act this way, or thus,
Until time is not enough,
Sand has run, decision come.

I think I thought his precedential prospects were dead after January 6,
Though I was doubtful he was going to be sent to jail or anything.
Still, court is still up in the air I suppose.
Haven't thought about it for a while,
But from what I'm hearing, Trump has a fair shot at being re-elected.
Surprises me, but maybe I underestimated the political divide, and maybe more real Trump supporters than I thought.
'Really disappointed me when Trump was first elected, how Republicans as a whole just seemed to go along with him.
Well, I'm probably voting 3rd party again.

I've been away for some months, longer than a week or two I was planning.
Been planning to visit my Dad for a while now, I'd planned to visit him a week or two in January.
I had already given my two weeks notice at work, then about a week before I was to visit my Dad, learned he was in the hospital.
He had fallen down the stairs at home, seems he had slightly fractured a vertebrae in his neck, and broken his left arm, chipped off a piece of his left elbow, and bruised his legs up badly.
He ended up having to wear a neck brace and an arm sling, his vertebrae seems to be doing alright now, no paralysis there.
But I've been there the past 4 months, helping out buying groceries, making meals, various other tasks.
He seems much better, but. . still hasn't gotten his arm fixed, seems he wants it to be linked to workers compensation, due to some balance issues and vertigo he'd been having at work.
Though in my view, he's most at fault for letting his exercise and weight slip into bad territory.
Still, last doctor he's seen, says some scan or other, shows he'd had a recent stroke in the past, though it's no longer bleeding.
Last time I visited my Dad he had internet at his place, I brought a laptop, but didn't have any easy access for internet.
Back at my Mom's for a month, as she is going to be helping a friend of hers for a few weeks, and it helps to have someone else at my house to keep an eye on my 2nd brother.

But I've been missing junk food.
Been visiting my Dad, and since he's 'trying to diet,
I've not been eating junk food around him.
But now visiting my Mom, who's doing alright in health,
Ah, so time for some junk food again,

Mental health 'does 'seem a problem in America right now,

It might be better politically for Republicans, rather than Democrats,
If Trump was assassinated.
Martyrs are valuable,
Provide rallying behind ideas,
Allows discreditation of the other side,
Allows one to use conspiracy theories, true or not.
Dead leaders cannot dishonor themselves, cannot make mistakes.
. . .
Assassinating someone, can have it blow up in your face,
Result in outcome one did not want.
If Trump 'had forcibly seized power,
Had used the military,
Looked unlikely to be removed from office by becoming a dictator for life,
Then assassination by Democrats would be more reasonable,
Though could 'still blow up in their face in various ways.
. . .
Trump is old, on his way out,
There's young crazy people who might fill his vacuum anyhow,
Why give them more powder, to make a mess?
Why discredit the laws and peace of the nation,
For Trump who is already old, and on his way out.
Though I suppose he 'could still live a long number of years.
