I am not rich/upper middle class actually (For a US citizen.) In fact, my family has had its share of financial struggles. I just am white, so they assume. I do not usually engage, though. I can say that what you are saying is smart advice, although I think I have opened some minds through my conversations with them, and vice versa. I understand their position's roots, but I fully think it has its heart in some form of racism. I suppose the most we can do is have conversation. Conversation leads to understanding.
I live in a heavily minority community, and a substantial sum of them see much the same way as mairj23. They see me as a rich, violent profiteer off of their suffering. The goal would be to stop the spread of such evil ideologies. Despite this, I do not see much merit in bitterness over it, no matter if it is justified.
The reason, I think, for the sadness, is that I see radical, evil ideologies born out of personal suffering. Had their lives been more comfortable, would such ideologies develop?
I suspect that you are right. I am rather bitter about the blatant racism inherent in mairj23’s views, although my bitterness will not change anyone’s mind who holds those views. I am trying to decide if my bitterness is justified, as much as a sort of sadness that people are led to world views like these.

Fair point. I should correct myself, they are not truly equivalent evils. I think I would rather say that aside from scaled-down severity, they are scarily comparable. Perhaps this is where the equivalency claims derive from... kind of like people claiming that the US gov has concentration camps at the Mexican border, although I personally disagree with such a comparison.
I personally have a hard time classifying Antifa as anything other than a KKK-esque organization, although, it seems we won't be getting any response from Pro anytime soon.

I would be willing to debate whether AOC is competent or not with you, as long as it isn't worded like this resolution. I don't really like it because you can simply claim AOC is not technically mentally or physically ill, and is therefore fit to serve. It would then become a truism debate. Impossible to win, because in order to affirm you must affirm both statements. (One of which is blatantly, obviously, factually false.)
I am researching both sides and trying to arrive to a conclusion of my own. I am doing that by participating in these debates, and by reading plenty of literature on the topics from both camps.
As for right now, I have some major doubts about the Big Bang theory but I am unsure of whether that would necessarily lead to a Young Earth Creationism.
I do need some continued research into the matter.
That may very well be true! I have done both styles and don't necessarily prefer one over the other, but I can see the merits of a non-formalized structure. Oromagi seems to want to debate the given structure, so we will stick with that for now, though.
