The trinity doctrine.
-->
@Mall
Many folks that believe in the Trinity say the Father is not the holy Spirit.

They go from 1 John 5:7 to Jesus in the water at the baptism saying the Father was just in heaven and the holy Spirit descended.

Is the Holy Spirit and God the same person?
For the majority of Christian denominations, the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Holy Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and is Almighty God. As such he is personal and also fully God, co-equal and co-eternal with God the Father and the Son of God.

1 John 5:7 comes after Jesus’s baptism which is mentioned in John 1.

The main cause of the American Civil War was Slavery. Prove me wrong.
-->
@lacr3000
If slavery was the primary reason for the civil war, it would have been clear from the beginning of the war. You can argue all day about the role that slavery played in the confederate states withdrawal from the US, but from the Union POV, preservation of the Union was a more important topic than slavery.
Southern states which wanted slavery to continue threatened to withdraw from the Union. So slavery was the main cause for the civil war.

Christianity's role in African Slavery
The Catholic Church established its foothold in the South and relied on plantations and slave labor to help finance the livelihoods of its priests and nuns, and to support its schools and religious projects. This is history that we all should know. But we don’t. Enslaved people have largely been left out of the origin story that is traditionally told about the Catholic Church and other religious institutions. That’s changing, though. Religious institutions, including convents, seminaries and others, are now taking the lead in the fledgling reparations movement that is emerging in this country. It is really something to see.

It was reported that many US corporations, including several that exist today, played a fundamental role in slavery. Do these businesses have an obligation to make amends for their companies’ past?

Jesus was an Atheist
Zed, There is a list that qualified Jesus as an atheist posted by Harikrish. What qualified you as an atheist?
From the Scriptures and the actions and words of Jesus we can conclude Jesus was an Atheist.

Atheist definition: a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods.

Jesus mocked the religious leaders of his time. He called them vipers and scums just like Atheist mocked the believers today.
Matthew 23:33 "You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?

Jesus called his body a temple and drove people out of the real temple of worship.
John 2:19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."

Matthew 21:12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.

Jesus claimed he had all authority over his alien Kingdom and earth. Yet he stood idly by as the Romans destroyed the holy city and sanctuary.

He believed anybody who ate his flesh and drank his blood would have eternal life. Who needs a God if Jewish meat is kosher and gets you eternal life in the hereafter.

John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.

Jesus said he was from an alien world.
John 8:23 I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

John 18:36 Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place."

Jesus was despised like most atheists were during his time. He comforted them.

Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

Luke 6:22 Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.

Jesus on the cross mocked the God of the Bible.

Matthew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?").

Were those last words of Jesus that motivated the Pope to declare Jesus was a failure of the cross?

Pope declared:"And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross."

Jesus called God his father throughout his life. By doing this he reduced God to a rapist and the cause of his illegitimate bastard status.

He even blamed God for his alcoholism like God willed him to drink the water he turned into alcohol.
Matthew 26:39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

He was not directing people to God, he was forcing believers to chose between family or him.

Matthew 10:34 "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35 For I have come to turn ""a man against his father, a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law"
36 a man"s enemies will be the members of his own household."[c]
37 "Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

But if Jesus was an atheist as scriptures suggests who went against the religious leaders of his time by denouncing their beliefs. Then why do Christians worship an atheist Jesus?
By worshipping the atheist Jesus they believe they are turning him into God by their exhaltation.

If the Pope did not remind Christians that Jesus was a failure of the cross we would be swamped by Christians on DDO. But we find DDO is full of happy atheists who take delight in the fact that Jesus was an atheist......Harikrish.

Jesus broke all 10 Commandments
Jesus of Nazareth was executed today on the orders of the Roman State. Method of execution: Crucifixion. The charge under Roman law was treason, and under Herodian law blasphemy against the Temple.

Scriptures show Jesus broke all the 10 commandments. These ironies exist in the Bible.

The 10 commandments say.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2. You shall not make idols.
3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, To keep it holy.
5. Honour your father and your mother.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10. You shall not covet.

Jesus broke many of the commandments, If not all!

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
Jesus tried to claim he was God.
John 10:33 "We are not stoning You for any good work, " said the Jews, "but for blasphemy, Because You, Who are a man, Declare Yourself to be God. "

2. You shall not make idols.
Jesus made a covenant with a cup.
Luke 22:20 In the same way, After supper He took the cup, Saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood, Which is poured out for you.

3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
Jesus said every word he spoke came from God. Unless God too was as incoherent as Jesus. God in the OT never spoke in parables. His orders were clear and direct.
Luke 18:34 But the disciples did not understand any of these things. The meaning was hidden from them, And they did not comprehend what He was saying.

4. Remember the Sabbath day, To keep it holy.
Jesus broke the sabbath.
Pharisees accused Him of breaking the Sabbath (Matthew 12:10; Mark 3:2, John 9:14-16).

5. Honour your father and your mother.
Jesus tried to destroy the traditional family.
Matthew 10:35 For I have come to turn ""a man against his father, A daughter against her mother, A daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law"

6. You shall not murder.
Jesus murdered the truth.
Matthew 15:24 He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. "
Yet he spent his entire ministry condemning the very people he was sent to save.

7. You shall not commit adultery.
Jesus was unfaithful to God and his disciples. He left them to die even though he was given all authority over heaven and earth.
Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

8. You shall not steal.
Jesus stole the words of the prophets before him and claimed they pointed to him.
Luke 24:27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was written in all the Scriptures about Himself.
Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, Explaining from all the Scriptures. . . And Jesus explained to them what was said about himself in all the Scriptures, Beginning with the books of Moses and the writings of all the prophets".

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
Jesus accused God of betraying and forsaking him on the cross.
Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, Lema sabachthani? " which means, "My God, My God, Why have you forsaken Me? "

10. You shall not covet.
Jesus suffered from a messiah complex and coveted the title messiah/Christ/Anointed one.
John 17:1 After Jesus said this, He looked toward heaven and prayed:
"Father, The hour has come. Glorify your Son, That your Son may glorify you. 2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, The only true God, And Jesus Christ, Whom you have sent. 4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, Glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

Scriptures tell us Jesus was tried, Convicted and crucified for his blasphemous lies and lunacy. . . . By the Romans. But the confusion continues.

Christians have waited for 2000 years for Jesus's return as he had promised without any success.
Preterists claims Christisns got it wrong, That Jesus returned in 70 AD.
Jehovah's Witnesses claim Jesus returned in 1874 or maybe 1914.
Others say Jesus could be the next thief who robs your house.
Revelation 16:15, Matthew 24:43, 1 Thessalonians 5:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:4, 2 Peter 3:10 ESV - ("Behold, I am coming like a thief in the night! )

Harikrish biblical scholar and spiritual leader.
Jesus never said he was good.
Mark 10:18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.

Ephesians 2:8-10

The biblical curse of Ham, Harikrish explains.
There are at least seven passages in the Bible where God is depicted as directly permitting or endorsing slavery. Two of these are in the Law of Moses: God permitted the Israelites to take slaves from conquered peoples permanently, and the Israelites could sell themselves into slavery temporarily to pay off debts (Exod 21:2-11; Lev 25:44-46). The other five passages are in the New Testament, where slavery as a social institution is endorsed and slaves are called to obey their masters “in everything” (Eph 6:5-9; Col 3:22-4:1; 1 Tim 6:1-2; Tit 2:9-10; 1 Pet 2:18-20).
But slavery is viewed positively in Scripture well beyond these commands. Owning slaves was seen as a sign of God’s blessing (Gen 12:16; 24:35; Isa 14:1-2), and there are literally dozens of passages in the Bible that speak of slavery in passing, without comment. Slavery was simply part of life, and most people saw it as just the way things always were, even the divinely ordained order of things.

Why Christianity is a failure and Christians in denial
Christianity has had a horrible year, and decade, and a pretty bad last few hundred years, actually. In fact, depending on who you talk to, it’s pretty much been a train wreck from the very start. The New Testament even has the apostles sending strongly-worded letters to the earliest churches, condemning them for their mistakes, desperately trying to correct their failures.

Christ’s own prayer concerning the Church has gone largely unanswered. His plea in John 17:20-23 that believers be as one, unified to reflect the love of God, seems like a long lost impossibility. Today’s church is extremely divided, especially over LGBTQ+ affirmation, abortion, and partisan politics. But at least most of the world’s churches have moved on from killing each other, and it’s no longer commonplace to burn heretics at the stake, or torture those who hold different theological beliefs, or accuse others of being witches.

The case for the Historical Jesus
Stephen wrote: But I cannot prove it. And neither can you.
The objective of this thread was to build a case for the Historical Jesus and to get as many people to accept this simple historical  fact.

Stephen’s response: “I believe that Jesus was a man that believed himself to be or was led to be believe that he was the rightful heir to the throne of David and king of the Jews and Jerusalem minus the miracles. While I also believe he was a man wrapped in a myth by the early church.”

Accepting Jesus existed and was a man wrapped in a myth by the early church is acknowledging Jesus was a historical person.

Is canned food good for 20 years?
Good news: Shelf-stable canned goods are safe more or less indefinitely, lasting up to five years or more according to the USDA.

WHAT FOOD HAS A 25 YEAR SHELF LIFE?

Most foods can last 25 years if properly packaged. We freeze dry and dehydrate various foods, depending on which will produce the superior product, then pack that food in an airtight, light-proof packaging. This produces a final product that can safely live in a dry, cool spot for 25 years and still rehydrate into an enjoyable meal.

The case for the Historical Jesus
The objective of this thread was to build a case for the Historical Jesus and to get as many people to accept this simple historical  fact.

Stephen’s response: “And I accept there was such a man that lived in 1st century Palestine - minus the miracles. But I cannot prove it on the bases of there is so little evidence. It's called being honest with myself.”

You were not asked to prove anything. The evidence was a collection of accounts written by those who lived  during Jesus’s time and followed him. There were also accounts by historians who reported these events.
All you had to do was accept the case for the Historical Jesus built by Shila in this thread which you did.

You said: “And I accept there was such a man that lived in 1st century Palestine.”

Did Jesus actually exist or is he a mythological figure.?

Stephen’s response: “I believe that Jesus was a man that believed himself to be or was led to be believe that he was the rightful heir to the throne of David and king of the Jews and Jerusalem minus the miracles. While I also believe he was a man wrapped in a myth by the early church.”

In your own words you accept Jesus as a man, therefore he was a historical person.

The case for the Historical Jesus

Abd still no case made has been made for the existence of an historical Jesus by Shila nor anyone else. Regardless of the comments and contribution to this thread, of which I have read all....... including my own.
Virtually all scholars of antiquity accept that Jesus was a historical figure, and the idea that Jesus was a mythical figure has been consistently rejected by the scholarly consensus as a fringe theory. Scholars differ about the beliefs and teachings of Jesus as well as the accuracy of the biblical accounts, with only two events being supported by nearly universal scholarly consensus: Jesus was baptized and Jesus was crucified.

What is Shila?

Shila has multiple meanings, including a name, a type of stone, and a Buddhist term:
Meaning:Gentle; Expressing; Rock; Thunder; Blind. Shila is a feminine Indian and Sanskrit name and respelling of Sheela, with the warm meaning of “gentle” or “expressing.” An admirable quality to have, it can be easy to forget how being kind to ourselves and the world can go a very long way.

What does shilla mean?
Some sources link Shilla to the Irish feminine name Síle, meaning “blind.” Shilla could also be a respelling of Shila, a Sanskrit name that translates to “character” or “conduct,” reminding baby that their attitude can have an incredible impact on themselves and those around them.

What does the name Silla mean?
Silla is also found to be a masculine name of Inuit origin and is interpreted as 'God of Sky. ' Silla is also a Spanish term for 'chair' or 'seat. ' On the other hand, this versatile name is interpreted as 'new' or 'beginning' in Korean.

What is Shilla in Korean?
Silla, or Shilla, an ancient Korean kingdom (57 BC – 936 AD)

Insider trading is a victimless crime

In direct response to your horse race example; I think you actually make an argument for insider trading not being a victimless crime. The example you provided of doping is a more accurate representation of most insider trading than the erect penis example is. Particularly in congress, where insider trading is rampant, members serve on boards that affect policy that could impact the value of many companies. While they aren't making decisions on those boards purely for the sake of changing the value of the stock, aka winning the race (or are they), they are still making direct changes that result in the stocks values shifting.
They know how their decisions will affect the stock market. If they are also investing in those stocks. It is clearly insider trading
