Tejretics

Hi! I’m Tejretics. I joined DDO back in 2015, where I was ranked #7 on the site and was on the Hall of Fame; with others, I migrated to DART in 2018, and was the first Voting Moderator.

I am a moral realist and a utilitarian (of the Sidgwickian kind). I believe AI is likely to be the most transformative innovation since the Industrial Revolution, but am very worried its development leads to catastrophic consequences for humanity. Consequently, I strongly dislike “effective accelerationism.” I think factory farming is one of the greatest moral crimes of human history. I generally like markets, individual liberty, and economic growth (besides AI).
