The Round Table: Entry Stage

@Bella3sp
Yea, turns out I quoted the wrong paragraph. Apologies.
"The teaching of religious studies is necessary in public schools as part of a well-rounded education. (10 points. Max Time - 3 days" is what I meant.

The government should oppose the use of religious exemptions in laws that infringe upon the rights of marginalized groups. (5 points. Max Time - 2 days.)
I believe you preferred the Con stance?

@Bella3sp
There must be implementation of affirmative action policies to address gender disparities in traditionally male-dominated fields, such as STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). (10 points. Max Time - 3 days.)
I’ll take the Con stance.

Additionally, if possible, I’d like to put out a reservation request. If no other debates interrupt us, and the moderator allows me to switch topics, would Bella3sp be interested in debating on the topic of religion as part of the curriculum? After your current debate, of course.

Whose more racist???
-->
@Savant
 I think the implication here is that we should be hostile toward black people, and I'm basing that on other things TWS has said.
That could very well be true,  but I’d disagree on the current implication of this forum. While erratically capitalized and slightly venomous, I think TWS is trying to bring attention to the accepted social biases operating against whites and asians because they typically occupy more high status/privileged positions in society. The shift in public attitude, I think, is a real thing and I don’t necessarily think pointing that out is a call to action. That’s merely my opinion on the writing, though, and I could be wrong.

In TWS’s defense, the link is the title of a video that quoted that term from a black woman. It’s not a reflection of his thoughts, but a citation. Additionally, his question/argument kind of requires generalities to even attempt to find an answer.
I’m more intrigued that CNN had an article about black privilege.

Trump destroys CNN woman in a debate: "I want people to stop dying".
-->
@Double_R
You have some valid critiques of Trump's character, but I feel like that is how the political world is shifting. Dominating personalities like his are becoming more and more attractive to voters. What do you think are the qualities of a good president, and who do you think, presently, is capable of being such?

I always see you in most political forums, and I can never tell if you're trolling or not, but reading your comments, and the reaction they get, is a constant source of fun for me.

Men and Woman - Controversial.

@Bella3sp
If the vast majority of leadership and government roles are dominated and have been dominated by men since time immemorial, don't you think there must be a reason? Some advantage that men have?

If There Was a Global/planetary Flag, What Should it be and why?
-->
@Reece101
I disagree with the use of the rainbow flag as a planetary symbol. It's simply too colorful. I would opt for a single, dark red, sun, in the middle of a dark patch of blackness representing space (basically, the emo version of Japan's flag). Plus, the sun is one of the few things that is a constant for our world, at least for now, and I don't think there could be much argument that it doesn't represent every country.

Develop calculus. It shouldn't require much to explain beyond what's taught in high school courses.
Hmm, different than the typical answers. I like it.

Solipsism
-->
@Savant
If I'm understanding your point right (solipsism is already pretty confusing), you're trying to say that solipsism is unlikely because our brains would likely not be able to be consistent with reality and would therefore poke a hole in the theory that your brain is the end-all-be-all, because it would be wrong? And if the brain is wrong, there must be something beyond it that is right, disproving the theory that the brain is the only real thing?
While I'm unfamiliar with the zombie theory, I've always thought of solipsism as this situation where your brain is the only thing in existence, and everything you're introduced to is merely a creation of your own thoughts. So, basically, the laws of reality are only things my brain has created, and I'm subject to them because my brain gives them power.

Ron DeSantis will make a better president than Joe Biden if he wins.
-->
@FLRW
Yea, I understand that governments typically don’t encourage non-traditional education, but I’m asking what benefit it would bring them to do something like that? A machine as large as a government shouldn’t just do something to do something. There should be a practical benefit to society when a government takes action, in any manner.
For the part about DeSantis,  it seems kind of hyperbolic. We have checks and balances for a reason.

Your idea sounds quite reasonable then. As long as modesty is given a chance to continue, the idea of societal constraints is actually pretty practical.

Everyone should be forced to help people. Then we can finally live in Communism like we deserved.
-->
@Best.Korea
Every person violating one or both of these laws should be reported to the government by others and the government will decide if the individual needs to be sent to re-educational treatment where his mistakes will be explained to him and he will be corrected.
There is a criminological theory, I forget which scholar published his thoughts on it, that pretty much said that balance is of foremost importance when guiding punishment. One of the key examples of this thought process was that if you punish thieves with execution, the thieves will murder their victims to avoid the punishment. So the law, in that case, failed, and essentially created worse crime.
While the “re-educational” facility you wrote about sounds quite… cushy, what would prevent people from acting in a similar way as the thief?
Also, as Alfred famously said, “some men just want to see the world burn”. We have sociopaths, psychopaths, and a whole cornucopia of reasons that would prevent people from wanting to help others. Would your hypothetical world commence to “trim the garden” with select slaughters of “rebels” of this new world order?

The Delusion.
-->
@oromagi
      • 90% of child sex abuse is in the family- fathers, brothers, then uncles, cousins.  Family men are the overwhelming perpertrators of this crime.  Most drag queens are not family men.  If you had to choose quick whether to leave child alone with a drag queen or straight (not that straight men can't be drag queens, right Rudy?) male, statistically the child is more likely to be safe with the drag queen.
This statistic is quite worthless due to the oversaturation of normal, heterosexual men in the population. I can't quite find a statistic for the population of drag queens, but it's reasonable to assume it's quite low. As an alternative, I have this stat: "Gallup finds 7.2% of U.S. adults identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or something other than straight or heterosexual" (Jones, 2022). It should serve us appropriately.
  • Objectively and as a matter of history, Conservatives have ALWAYS fucked way more kids than Liberals. In the modern age, this is more easy to explain since there are way more women on the Liberal side and way less religion.  Religious institution have always been the number one fucker of children and thier prevalance in Conservative politics certainly helps to explain the unbalanced, over-representation of conservatives in child sex abuse.
Moving past the poor grammar that is quite "prevalent", you seem to ignore the fact that Democrats maintain a connection to the Catholic Church, which itself has been affected by the LGBTQ+ culture. Additionally, the Pope has loosened the traditional condemnation of abortion and same-sex relationships that was previously quite strict in Catholic teachings (Burke et al, 2016; Lowen, 2020). So, if you're arguing that religious institutions are child predator workshops, I'll go ahead and throw them back to your side of the aisle. Furthermore, your obvious bias is quite repulsive. If one was to slander a swathe of names on the list of people to put on a sexual predators list, they should do a compare and contrast of both sides. At least then your comment could have some relevance and righteousness buried deep within.

Undeniable proof Stephen Crowder is a wife beater

@YouFound_Lxam
One thing I want to point out from this though is that Republicans are not tribal. If I see a prominent republican figure doing this crap, I will not hesitate to call it out.
I agree with the sentiment,  but you can’t really say that Crowder would be “in” with the “tribe” normally. After the drama with DailyWire, he’s pretty much lost a large chunk of his listeners. The only ones still left are his diehard fanatics.

Popular liberal transwomen endorses the 2nd amendment
I love guns, but this doesn’t bode well.
The suicide attempt rate among transgender persons ranges from 32% to 50% across the countries. Gender-based victimization, discrimination, bullying, violence, being rejected by the family, friends, and community; harassment by intimate partner, family members, police and public; discrimination and ill treatment at health-care system are the major risk factors that influence the suicidal behavior among transgender persons. (Link below)
I don’t want to lose my gun rights because of an increase in school shooters and suicide rates. Not saying that it’s the guaranteed future, but that’s quite an obvious, at-risk group to give guns to. Interesting dilemma it poses though.

I’ll be honest, I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not. Assuming you are serious though, do you think “emotional abuse” constitutes jail time?
