Have you ever crafted a material object, (Arts and Crafts kind of question) If so, have you any thoughts on said action/object/s?

Yes, I like to draw and to paint. I also like to take photos.

when I was younger I would help my uncle on his woodturning machine.

I also like to make and write music.

I think such actions and objects are a reflection of the things I am thinking about. Although many of the earlier pieces were more about learning than me. Yet I do like to be creative in my writing - as well. Sometimes it is a reflection of me or of the society around us. Sometimes it is a reflection about God.

For me God is the centre of everything - so this naturally occurs more than I would know.

In schools required reading, have there been any books or stories, that stand out in your memory, if so, why?

Yes.

1984 for the obvious reasons.

The Great Gatsby - I was intrigued by the entire wealth v ordinary character of the book. The first person narrative of the friend touched a chord in my mind.

The Chosen - I found it fascinating because I did not know much about the Jewish Hasidic cult within Jewish religion - prior to this book. Yes I had ideas but it was enlightening to see how this young lad valued traditions and the way he dealt with it.

The Scottish Chiefs - fantastic historical background to William Wallace and the Scottish period of the time. Inspiring and educational.

The Tragedy of Macbeth - the interplay of the author and the history of the nation was fascinating - a study of the human heart and the desire for lust and power.

My Brother Jack - it impressed me at the time - but honestly I can't recall to much about it now.

Gates of Splendor - inspiring book of sacrifice for the sake of something much bigger than personal glory.

What kind of background music does reality need?

The kind that sets your mood.
