About me

Hello, My name is Wesley Coleman. I am here to discuss and hopefully learn from every person I talk to! I am interested in just about any topic, and I have a lot of con-temporarily contrarian views and perspectives. Please don't judge me based on your perceptions but on my character and arguments! Thank you for understanding! I compose music, play alto sax, piano, drumset, bassoon, sing, blog about politics, music, and religion, draw pencil art, hike around my beautiful state (Multnomah Falls, Mnt Hood, Mnt Pisgah), and push my breadth of knowledge every day.

First and foremost, I am a Christian who currently holds the fundamental beliefs of Christianity through the lens of a literary interpretation of scripture. I believe there is evidence for the historical accuracy of the Bible including the young-Earth theory and the truth and basis of historical accounts mentioned in scripture. Politically speaking, I am a constitutionalist, an originalist, and a conservative libertarian. I believe in the inherent rights of mankind to life, liberty, and the pursuit of property. That definitionally defines me as a capitalist. I hold traditionalist values such as the founding fathers.

My favorite books are 1984 (George Orwell), Animal Farm (George Orwell), Mere Christianity (C. S. Lewis), The Art Of War (Sun Tzu), Fahrenheit 451 (Ray Bradbury), Another Kingdom (Andrew Klavan), The Case For Christ (Lee Strobel), Invisible Man (H.G. Wells), Ender's Game (Orson S. Card), The New Evidence (Josh McDowell), Dune (Brian Herbert), ETC... My favorite movies are The Princess Bride, Groundhog Day, Lord Of The Rings, Citizen Kane, Interstellar, Star Wars, The Planet Of The Apes, Ghost Busters, What About Bob?, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Matrix, Avengers, and I have a soft spot for classic Pixar and Disney films. My favorite three genres are Classical music such as Ravel, Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, Chopin (and more); Jazz music such as John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker (and more); Prog Rock music such as Yes, Gentle Giant, Kansas, Genesis, ELP (and more); Jazz fusion such as Return To Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Frank Zappa, Keep, Happy The Man, Herbie Hancock (and more).

"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
~ Albert Einstein

"Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past."
~ George Orwell, 1984

"When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say."
~ R. R. Martin
