What's something, if there is anything, false about you? I'm thinking lies mostly I guess, but throw your doubts out there also if you like. Contradictions in your nature, that sort. Have you ever had any violent thoughts, even?

I still see you as a kid hugging a duck tbh haha.

why aren't non-gun murders wildly out of control in the usa?
School shootings are one of the ugliest global occurrences. That's my two cents. I imagine you've all had this argument a thousand times and not moved an inch.

So more accountability and less toys?

The only guns I ever see are belonged to army escorts for cash vans, the AUG HBAR, and they do freak me out a little. Ya know, I'm actually convinced that all of you guys' school shootings, and mass shootings, and what have you, are all actually down to something like the prisoner's dilemma of game theory, eventually it just becomes kill or be killed, it's only sensible with all those guns lying around.

I can't argue with that at all. Danielle was more fun.

>Let's grant the argument that someone is fully aware that even with a condom their is about a 15% that they can get pregnant (this is the high end by the way), do you also believe that someone getting rear-ended in an intersection is at fault because they went on the road? Surely not - by getting on the road you don't "consent

I'm getting mixed up here. She definitely consented to being rear-ended.

You’re not Danielle.

Actually, I don't much care about this issue, at least so long as women aren't throwing fetuses down the street as they would their burning bras, in some protest of patriarchy. I don't have the self control fauxlaw espouses for one. I've even pictured myself the surgeon a time or two, giving rough surgery, where I had come to hate the girl or the thought of being attached to her. Those sort of fantasies are all well and good about a woman from time to time, but not a child, therefore life begins at birth.

I wonder, though: Is it fair, in your opinion, that a woman can pull the trigger on a pregnancy and then a man is just along for the ride, stuck to you, and stuck to child, paying all the way? What of personal responsibility here? Do you afford a man an opt out while we might still stick a fork in it, devils that we are?

I haven't seen a woman here yet, either. It's hardly sporting.

That's all great to hear. You could get working as a Russian bot maybe part-time.

You were a teacher, wasn't it?

Why are we attracted to things
Order is a large part of it I imagine. Symmetrical faces are more attractive, that sort of thing. But I think we're given to romanticism anyway, as a survival mechanism. There's funny in dark jokes and great consolation in an orgasm. I suppose only a semblance of sense matters, to give us a bit of a runaround. Otherwise it's all in the head.

The Three Body Problem/Remembrance of the Earths Past series
I will definitely get back to it and I did actually love the first book. I guess I was just was not in the right headspace for that anty point of view and trying to follow along with those shapes or whatever it was.  The first one was mind-bending enough too actually, I guess my brain had a better idea of what it was in for this time and noped the fuck out early haha. I'll brute force it over the summer now maybe.

@thett3
I dunno how you replied like that and I'm not altogether arsed. But yeah been restricted to 5km for the most part of the last year I guess. It's been a crazy time and a lot of grumbling going on but we're nearly out of it now, bars and gyms back open the start of next month, my life can resume finally. I actually qualified as a software engineer in the meantime and retired home to the family farm with my dog for a bit again, it's actually been a peaceful and pretty enough sort of time for me. You guys elected Biden and so you're not in my everyday news anymore, I guess i had a hankering lol. Was cool to see you still knocking around, thett.

The Brothers Karamazov or Anna Karenina
I read Crime and Punishment and The Idiot and I don't think I took a single thing away from either of them. I found The Idiot charming at times. Crime and Punishment was a slog throughout. I mean nothing wrong with them, but just amused at FourTrouble taking them so seriously I guess.

I just googled Nietzsche and a quote popped straight up "Woman was God's second mistake." That man was funny.

I read the first one and absolutely loved it. I have the Dark Forest somewhere but just haven't had the time lately. I couldn't get past the stupid bit about the ants either, the time I did pick it up.

What causes politics?
Where there's more infectious disease, there's religion stricter on sex. I can't remember where I'm getting that from exactly, but I take it for a sort of first principle of politics/religion. Each are a thing of necessity whether we know it or not. I find you can always put anti-immigration thinking with conservative Christianity also. I mean there's something going on there right.

I remember you writing stuff about watching your old neighborhood disappear, be overtaken completely by the Chinese or something lol. That'd give anyone the politics. I reckon Australians must have their own big existential thing about the Chinese, same thing. That's just a dam ready to to burst, right? Or that's the sort of thinking anyway. Fuck it, I have nightmares sometimes about those gobblydegook death march bastards joke joke lol. I dunno thett, but good to see you anyway buddy.

What I've been thinking about lately, is a sort of padded room politics. A politics of the agey where there's no sharp edges anymore, everything's been rounded off by experience of it, nothing can hurt me anymore. And then it all becomes gibberish a little bit, when you lose that ultimate point of self preservation in it. Reminds me of Greyparrot a little bit lol. He always seemed a halfways clever man who made no sense at all. I see he's still up to it.
