Dawkins takes several hundred pages to explain appearant design - i can't do it in a forum post.

In my mind's eye I can see how the interplay of mutation and natural selection gives rise to apparent design.

i don't agree that conscience is a gift from any god.  We have a moral sense that let us dististinguish between good and bad,  just as we have senses that let us distinguish between hot and cold, or between light and heavy.
