 The Hip Hop Community is a both a blessing and a burden to "woke" Black/Brown people in America.

Alotta music in the Community glorify black death....but why is that so popular? Why is it "cool" for us to rap about killing each other?

When I bring this up amongest many of the youth I mentor, they say "it's just entertainment...."

But if that's the case, why don't I hear songs glorifying killing Whites? Jews? Politicians? Why is that not "just entertainment?

There is a large segment of the population that gets upset hearing me even say that, but if it's just entertainment then why does that matter?

Why is Blacks killing Blacks a cool thing to glorify? Who made it "cool" to celebrate our own death?

The death culture within hip hop community is shameful and destructive

I'm sure that martyrdom means something different for everyone however imo if someone is going to die anyways (like we all are) then why not have your death be symbolic of change?

I agree and it a shame that the NFL for decades promoted hard hitting and knockout shots.....It would be a search to find football films referencing the 1970's and before without mentioning the "Purple People Eaters" or the "Steel Curtain" or the "Doomsday Defense" not to mention the Black and Silver Raiders.

Bigots discriminate based off of personal opinions (which might include Race for some) but could also include religion, gender, lack of wealth etc.

When I hear people speak of the Devil, I often think of the story of Emmitt Till...

Emmitt Till was a 14yr old Black kid in Chicago in the early 1950's. His mother sent him to stay with extended family in Mississippi.  While there, he allegedly whistled at a White woman which two nights later got him beaten, shot and killed and dumped into the bottom of a local pond by two grown White Men.

His mother had his funeral with an open casket so that the World could see "what they had done to her baby".

His death became a rallying cry for the Civil Rights Movement. (two weeks later Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus and said she was thinking of Emmitt when she refused)

Now the heinous murder created by the two men who killed Till would be considered evil by any logical person.

Yet that murder, spawned the Civil Rights Movement that made Black/White unity possible today.

Did God use evil to create ultimate good?

Did the Devil unintentionally create good?

Did God use the Devil to create good?

I'm not a Christian (as I understand the definition) but it is certainly something to think about.

I have a father who wasn't allowed to drink from "White Only" water fountains and wasn't allowed to go to "White Only" schools who would disagree with you

I also have a great great grandfather who's best friend was lynched in South Carolina who would like to have a word with you too.
