I am suspect of everything when the news reports the why's and how's of anything. Yes I do believe there is military action taking place in the Ukraine. As to why, one will never know.  I usually wait months before I give an opinion on what supposedly happened today. I live in Sarasota Florida and only personally know of 1 person who had covid if you can trust the test they took.  They had flu like symptoms for 3 or 4 days and it went away.  Our Hospitals were never overwhelmed either.  That is what I can report based on first hand knowledge. You can believe what the news says if you want.

Why are these questions complex?

So yes, shutting down pipelines hurts the economies in the countries that this is done in? I want to clear on this point. I also want to be clear on another point. Why is it OK for a country to import oil but bad to produce it domestically?

 The pipe line from Russia to Germany has been shut down to hurt Russia economically by not allowing Russia to sell oil or natural gas. Is this a  correct interpretation? Would shutting down pipelines in other countries also hurt those countries economies? Why is importing oil from other countries OK but producing oil domestically bad?

I expect nothing from anyone except those who I pay for a service. I have acquaintances but no "What society defines as friends"  Friends stab you in the back inevitably. They believe in that stupid unconditional shit no matter what they do to fuck you over. An acquaintance is much less likely to do so as they may need a favor one day. I quit the "friend" thing decades ago. There is no expectation of trust or loyalty with acquaintances, they come thru or they don't. When it comes to people, even family, I always have a plan B. You cant disappoint me because I had no expectation from you in the first place.
