Description

each round, post 5 songs

Round one is dedicated to super lyrical raps

Round two is focused on sonically pleasing ones rather than ones that are necessarily lyrically complex

Round three will focus on raps that you think represent your own personality

Judges should judge based on how complex the lyrics are in round one, how good the song sounds in round two, and how well the songs represent the persona of the one posting them in round 3.

Lyrical Mastery Top 5 as of 6th April 2019 from the Guru of rap worldwide; Rationalmadman

The top 5 would actually have 3 songs of Vinnie Paz's groups (Jedi Mind Tricks and Army of the Pharaohs, as opposed to his Heavy Metal Kings group/label) so I relegated 1 of the songs away to make it fair on other artists.

5 is less good than 1, you get the idea. Let's build it up from 5 to 1.

I value flow above rhyme scheme but both undeniably matter a lot.

4. Anilyst - Lean Back (Freestyle, meaning no chorus)

Only available on YT to my knowledge.

-

3. Army of the Pharaohs - Digital War

Vinnie Paz's group at their finest, lyrically speaking.

-

2. Rittz Ft. Yelawolf Sleep At Night

-

1. Jedi Mind Tricks - Hell's Henchmen

Vinnie at his finest, lyrically speaking.

2 essential corrections to Round 1:

  1. I meant 4th June 2019
  2. The link for Anilyst - Lean Back (freestyle) was incorrect. the song by K.A.A.N. that I link to was my original #4 but I rethought things later, please disregard it. The Spotify link is correct for it.
Here is the correct link for Anilyst - Lean Back:

Now for the moment you all waited for OLE OLE OLE:

The top 5 eargasmic raps that are audibly-pleasing above all else from the Guru of all rap: Rationalmadman

5 is less good than 1, etc. :)

Again flow matters more than delivery for me but both are essential to pull off proper eargasmic rap. The nature of eargasmic rap is such that the hook is not even the most pleasing part but the actual voice rapping (not singing) is what pleases the eardrum. This ethos will indeed give me a very different collection to Pro for R2.

The idea is that you cannot stop listening to them because the voice and music both captivate you throughout.

5. Dax - "Wack Ass Rappers"

4. Chris Webby - Don Corleone (feat. Vincent Pastore)

3. Locksmith - "Ghost" feat. Jarren Benton

2. Nicki Minaj - Ganja Burn

YT: https://youtu.be/eMymSXUN9nQ?t=54 Long Intro demanded a timestamped link.

1. Hopsin - Twisted
