Description

Fourth of July is my personal favorite holiday of the year. It is a time that we both remember the sacrifices of those who protected our freedom as well as celebrate the fact that we live in a country of unprecedented levels of rights in terms of free speech, bearing arms, etc. To keep this interesting, we will be supplying the most patriotic songs, but not all will be American.
Rounds will go as follows:
1. American
2. Foreign
3. American
4. Foreign
5. American

We will list the name of the song, write up to 100 words describing the message and historical significance of the song, and then providing a YouTube link to the song. This will be judged by how catchy the song is, how significant the song is in the country's history, and how well we conveyed the message of the song.

The point is to expose people to songs they may not know. If anything, vote for the songs you hate less. I personally like all patriotic songs. I love it when people love their country. Give these a try or vote based on the only ones you care for(American). I'd appreciate your input :)

Nah. I"m not too familiar with the songs from other countries, probably not appropriate for my biased-ass to vote. Here's some more. I'll admit these may not necessarily be "patriotic" in the traditional sense., but hell, you can't deny they make you want to hoist the flag!

Damn Yankees - Don't Tread on Me
Springsteen - Born in the USA
John Cougar Mellencamp - R-O-C-K in the USA
James Brown - Living in America......you can't help but think of Rocky duking it out with Drago when this one comes on!

@GuitarSlinger

Thanks! I'll have more material for my "America" playlist. Think you'll vote on this debate?
