My opponent has forfeited, meaning that I had gained at least 1 point out of 7 points. However, I am not slacking off. I must keep using effort on my last argument in order to win completely for I am in fear that my opponent is coming back with an even better argument that would lose me 2 points of the 7.
1) Homosexuality in itself does not harm anyone else, which is the fundamental and base of all crimes.
See Round 1.
2) Homosexual people hide instead of disappears.
The article states:
Ahwaa, a platform for LGBT people from Bahrain, boasts over 10,000 users. As more and more people communicate in this way, change will come.
Bahrain is a nation in which simply being gay was a crime on its own. However, gay people don't disappear, they just hide and express when they are along, such as on the internet. Banning homosexuality simply wasn't an effective solution as that the remaining gay people are thinking not how to please a person of the opposite sex, but how to hide his passions of a harmless but illegal substance to his private, and out to act like a heterosexual while not actually being one or internally trying to be one.
3) Decriminalizing homosexuality will often result in protests, in which not only the state will gain a negative reputation, but the laws will be ineffective.
This article contains descriptions of how homosexuality became a crime in Russia, but the thumbnail is of a gay flag, meaning that anti-gay laws could bring protests, or even a negative reputation.
FF means any vote which falls the majority in your favor are not moderated. So generally people just put them all towards you.
If Envisage comes back, a vote in his favor which does not award you conduct, would most likely be deleted by moderation.
I personaly hate final round blitzkriegs as a tactic, so IMO this one is a foregone conclusion, but Envisage may always challenge you to a rematch.
I'm fine with letting states of the world decide their own laws. Gay people that don't like it in the countries that they are in (if it's banned there) ought to be free to move to a country to where homosexuality is practiced.
Europe forcing Africa to legalize homosexuality is like Africa forcing Europe to legalize polygamy.
Also, FF means all points to the person that didn't commit FF, right?
Well, it is highly unlikely he will win this debate because the opportunity is smaller, but he still can if he has more evidence and facts.
On a two round debate, a single forfeiture constitutes an FF.
Good Luck.
For the sake of logic and morality, please don't.
Even with the corrected resolution, there was a time I would have had some fun trolling this...
No problem! This sort of stuff happens.
Thank you.
This is why you should be careful with wording your resolutions.
"Homosexuality 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 and 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 be a crime anywhere in the world."
At face value, what Pro is required to argue is that homosexuality is not a crime anywhere in world, nor should it be. To uphold the latter burden is easy, the former, though, is difficult in the face of incontrovertible evidence. Over 70 countries outlaw the practice, and would presumably levy some penalty against those in a homosexual relationship. It seems fairly impossible to prove your case unless you have surreptitiously hidden your true intentions and plan to troll other users.
