Pro: School uniforms should be mandatory
Con: School uniforms should NOT be mandatory.

Round 1

I think school uniform should be mandatory since kids can focus more and it may reduce safety since people do not bring a gun to school and they can do many other things for example kids can be safer more plus it is saving time for people since I do not need to take time choosing what to wear and instead I can go to school directly and there are many other benefits of school uniform for example it make people take school more seriously and it make everyone look the same and do many other good things about it. In generel I think school uniform should be mandatory in school due to all of these reason caused.

Thanks @Andrew071117,

REBUTTAL:
Due to lack of characters, I am not going to copy and paste the entire argument.

  • Many students don't focus on others clothing and instead focus on their own individual selves. In fact, most students are busy distracted on their phones, computers, etc, instead of actually paying attention to their class.
  • How will a student be safer? Uniforms will not guarantee that a student will not bring a gun to school.
  • Saving a few minutes of time picking out an outfit is not worth taking someone's right of free speech. Further, many enjoy picking out their own clothes in the morning or night time.
  • Uniforms don't show any increase in the education of students, meaning this focus Is going somewhere else or they just aren't understanding.
Argument 1:
Uniforms don't improve education

Uniforms don't actually do anything for the education of the students. According to Norwichbulletin, "Uniforms do not improve academics, behavioral and social outcomes, or reduce discrimination or crime, according to many educators and experts. Studies do not report any improvements in these areas. In fact, uniforms may even make rebellious students worse. They alter the uniforms by tightening, widening, shortening, or lengthening them."

Argument 2:
Violation of civil rights

Uniforms disregard free speech, privacy, and freedom of religion. Many school uniforms support girls in skirts, however many different religions such as being Islam don't allow wearing skirts at such lengths. There are many different skirts at lengths unacceptable for certain religions.

As for freedom of speech, The First Amendment of the US Constitution guarantees that all individuals have the right to express themselves freely, having uniforms would take away their rights. (White House)

Argument 3:
Bullying or teasing still occurs

Uniform or not, there will always be something for students to bully another student. Uniforms just present other peoples insecurity's even more leaving them exposed to bullies.
