Again, thanks to Sir Lancelot for helping me out on this.  He's a swell guy.

As for cucumbers, they should not be banned.  What would you say to the cucumber farmer that grows cucumbers for a living?  He wakes up early in the morning to walk out into the field.  He sits down next to each and every one of them and gently nudges them awake.  He places little droplets of fortified water into their little cucumber mouths and will ever so softly burps them.  By the time he finishes, the sun is going down and he stands in the middle of the field and plays a soft melody on his old violin of a sleepy cucumber bedtime song.  By the time the stars come out, every growing cucumber is fast asleep, nestled on the soft dirt of the field.  The farmer then slowly and tiredly walks back to his house, knowing he has completed yet another hard day's of work.  When he gets to his doorway, he stops and turn around to look at his field.  A proud smile starts across his face.  He grins, sighs and shakes his head with the understanding that he has a long day of cucumber care ahead of him and turns in for the night. (cue closing curtains and finishing trumpet music)

My opponent would rather not only see the farmer who cares and raises these cucumbers starve, but is careless of the precious lives of the cucumbers themselves!  He also drowns baby kittens!
