Description

Pure skill clash, shut the fuck up, no debating, post 4 songs per Round, minimum 1 out of the 4 must have each in them (can have 3 from one).

These are the 2 best Grime artists as of 2023 in an overall/alltime sense of rap skill and proficiency. Dont care if you post Drill, Hiphop or grime, keep it UK artists only.

You can pick any 2, try it. NOT MY 2, neither allowed.

YT sessions allowed even if not on other platforms.

Give both Arguments and Sources to the overall winner. Give the other 2 points if you feel it was a severe win or withhold if not that severe, 2, 1 or 0.

People vote who spat/rapped better, slicker, superior to the eardrum and closer to perfect at landing punchlines.

Round 1
Pro
#1
Chip - Fire in My Studio

Chip - Good Morning Britain

Devlin - Really Cold

Devlin - Count Your Blessings
Con
#2
Stormzy - Disappointed

Stormzy - One Take Freestyle

Skepta - Wish You Were Here

Skepta - Nasty

(As these two are among my top favorite UK artists are considered by most of the rap scene to be performatively better than Chip & Devlin by light-years, both lyrically and musically speaking. I’ll use these two.)

Not sure who you're trying to kid there but I'll admit Skepta was a decent pick there. Stormzy is mediocre lyrically.

If you can say that, I can rebuke it, this is not meant to be a clash of words though.

Major Round 1 error

this is 'good morning britain' by Chip YT link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4IKg3MueOY
I made an error. My bad.

Wrong link, correct stated song and correct Spotify link, please forgive me voters. I won't make this mistake again all debate, was trying to post the Round 1 as rapid as possible.

Minor clarification
The second Devlin track (Count Your Blessings) has a verse from another artist in it. Verses 1 and 3 are Devlin.

Round 2 Picks

Chip - Daily Duppy (I strongly recommend looking at the YT, some puns are laid out visually)

Chip - Light Work (Bugzy Malone Diss)

Not available on Spotify

Devlin - Mad About Bars

To understand a reference here and before, Stormzy showed up at Chip’s door and threatened his life with some other guys (causing their beef to really, truly begin as it seems unprovoked) causing neighbours to call cops, you won’t catch some things in the diss I posted earlier or here without grasping that. I won’t explain any others, just needed to clarify that.

Chip - Flowers                   (Stormzy Diss)
YouTube EPILEPSY WARNING it has photosensitive triggers (strobing type shaking and flashing of the video).

Devlin - Live in the Booth (he isn’t live-spitting this, it’s a playful reference to fire in the booth, a thing rappers do like daily duppy etc where they showcase their skill in UK)

Devlin - Blow Your Mind (feat. Maverick Sabre on Hook/Chorus)

Devlin - Fire in the Booth 3 (listen to full thing please, he does the third verse ‘twice’ as in he repeats it because the host pauses as it’s so fire and does it longer with a whole lot more to it)

Stormzy was just scaring Chip. It was a fake threat.

Chip and his wife were in a really bad place and after she cheated on him with Stormzy, she decided to stay at Stormzy's house. Chip wouldn't stop calling her and Stormzy assumed they were about to get back together, so he took things out of context and went to Chip to tell him to back off.

He realized he was in the wrong, so he apologized. But their professional beef continued while they resolved things personally, so this is Stormzy's diss on Chip.

Stormzy - This is what I meant

Stormzy - Vossi BOP

Skepta - Energy

Skepta - Too Many Man
