Description

The burden of proof is on Pro to prove that circumcision is not painful.

If Con makes just one example where circumcision was painful, Pro loses and runs away in shame.

Since the burden of proof is all on Pro, I will let him do the chatting.

In MOST cases, circumcision goes properly, and doesn't cause long lasting pain. Even in the common case of proper circumcision, it is unnecessary mutilation of a child without consent, and is painful temporarily even if not remembered by the patient.

The two links cited above show that circumcision absolutely can be painful in the long term if performed improperly.

Improper circumcisions can lead to infection, erectile dysfunction, problems with the urethra, and in extreme cases, death.

Proper circumcisions without complications are not only unnecessary, it originated as a sacrificial religious practice. Also, the mutilation of genitalia causes the head of the penis to become desensitized, leading to less pleasure during sex. A circumcized person will never experience sex with the natural lubrication and friction reduction that foreskin provides.

Holding a majority of humans to a standard of religious origin is not only unethical as it goes against their consent, it is barbaric in the modern age.

A long time ago, it may have functioned as a way to prevent infection, since proper bathing was hard to secure for the masses. The pain and few cases of complications could be argued for as necessary evils to prevent future complications due to lack of proper cleaning, but in the modern age, most people have access to facilities to clean themselves and doctors in the case of improper cleaning or stunted foreskin growth.

Long story short, circumcision is an outdated medical practice that originated as a sacrificial ritual and is only still in use today due to tradition and serves no medical purpose. It does cause pain on a temporary basis every time it is done, and can have long lasting negative effects, ranging from decreased sexual pleasure to death. Mutilation is never okay, and circumcision should only be performed if necessary.

*Ahemm** Ah yes, of course.

Clearly circumcision isn't painful, it's just chopping the genitals of a kid, they can't feel it anyways. And if they do have some sort of impossible "long-lasting complication" it's not at all because of the circumcision, it's because they just aren't tough enough.

Everyone should be circumcized because my great great great great great grandma likes circumcized penis better than uncircumcised.

It's literally illogical to think that cutting off a part of a person's genitalia could be painful. Everyone knows babies don't have feelings at all, and they only cry because they're not stoic enough. If they can't handle a painless procedure like a circumcision, or are in any way negatively affected by the the procedure, might as well sacrifice them to the Volcano God, it's all for the betterment of the species.

Why would we do it if it could cause long lasting detriment to health and certainly cause pleasure to decrease for the person? So of course that's fake news, everyone knows circumcisions are completely necessary and painless, otherwise we would have stopped doing them when we left the stone age.

The fact that we do them at all is undeniable proof that they are painless, 10000% necessary procedures.

Obviously, anyone with a brain can tell that circumcisions are needed and NOT at ALL sacrificial rituals with no medical purpose that lead to a decrease in life satisfaction and potentially death.

If someone dies and they happened to have had a circumcision and infection of the penis and lost their penis in the process and had to surgically have it removed, it is in no way related to them having their penis cut a little bit, it's just a little snip. Correlation is NEVER indicative of a possible causation.

Thanks for coming to my TedXTalk.

Praise be to the Circumcision
