Today's society is overly sexualized.
Several points to make. Starting with the first four.
1. Women on average tend to wear more and more revealing clothing and tight clothing typically to make out the buttocks area.
2. Easy readily excess to explicit content in multiple mediums.
3. Extending sexual behaviors beyond sexual intercourse such as oral sex, anal sex, use of sexual toys, scatology, the use of any bodily part for sexual stimulation.
4. Through t.v., movies, media, less and less restraint on sexual matters, more explicit, less sexual innuendos but more coarse.
But no doubt that just about everywhere you look particularly in the north western hemisphere, sexual depiction is at the forefront in media, advertising, in how clothes are designed typically for women .
Fifty to sixty years ago, there was more modest apparel. Things were left more to the imagination. I saw in the news one of the cast members from an old sitcom from the fifties just passed on.
If I could ask her what she thought about 2024 compared to 1954 in what she wore then and the changes now, I'd be all ears .
This type of clothing where you can make out every curve, crevice, bust , where as with dresses that would extend out to not be so revealing, extraordinary contrast.

This topic is strictly analogous to "this is the condition and the symptoms that prove it". So my position is we are in an overly sexualized world. If you don't agree with that, we have a debate.
So now we can get down to the symptoms I offered to see if they truly are markers of an overly sexualized reality.

I can't speak whether it is bad. It's not really my contention. Neither is about choice. The appropriate question is WHY?
Why is this or how is this a representation of over sexualization?
We can keep the questions coming. A woman that reveals more of her bare body to a heterosexual man is given rise to sexual ity more so now than what it was half a century ago. Of course sexuality existed decades back. But now it has grown to the point that a man doesn't even have to engage physically with a woman to become sexually aroused. Just an instant flash is all which makes credence to the statement nothing is left to the imagination.
