I affirm the resolution that  money can buy you happiness.

Let me define some key terms: 
Money: A medium of Exhange that allows individuals to purchase goods and services
Happiness: A state of well being and life satisfaction not just temporary pleasure

Money Secures basic human needs
If you look at Maslows Hiearchy of needs puts physiological safety needs at the very bottom, Food, Shelter, Healthcare, and security. Without money all these needs would not be possible, and without any of these how could happiness be ever possible? Money is the foundation for nature stability and peace of mind which can impact someones overall life happyness

Mone Grants Freedom and Autonomy
Money gives people control over how they spend there time, the ability to leave toxic jobs, help others you care about dearly, travel around the world, pursue education not possible before, and enjoy untapped experiences who wouldnt be happy? According to a 2021 study published in PNAS happyness just keeps on rising with the more money someone has especially when people spend money on stuff they are interested in such as video games or on meaningful activites

Money Reduces Stress and improves Mental Health.
Not having money also know as Financial insecurity is one of the leading causes of depression and anxiety. Take for example the APA (American Psychological Association) consistently reports money as a main cause for stress. and as stress is removed through getting money, people report higher life satisfaction and making poeple more happy.

Let me define some key terms:

Agreed.

Now, my opponent must argue that either money alone directly causes life satisfaction, or that goods and services alone can cause life satisfaction now.

I would say that money alone isnt enough to buy happiness now, as goods and services arent capable of bringing life satisfaction.

For example, a person who has no love or friends can have plenty of money, but he wont have life satisfaction.

Lets andress some of your key point: "Money isnt enough for happiness because things like love and friendship cant be bought."

The issue: that i never claimed that money by its self guarantees happiness. What i did say was "money is a critical foundation that enables happiness by supporting freedom,health, and acess to opportunites, things that make life worth living."

In a world where money insecurity ruins lives money is a tool and  powerful one. It cant guarantee happiness, but it absolutely can buy the circumstances where happiness grows.

And that’s why I strongly affirm:
Yes, money can buy happiness.
