I give here basic information about wars:

WAR:
War is an armed conflict[a] between the armed forces of states, or between governmental forces and armed groups that are organized under a certain command structure and have the capacity to sustain military operations, or between such organized groups -Wikipedia.
War is majorly between two countries, but some involves more than 2 countries,

How wars are born.
From my view wars are majorly caused due to one countries Greed. I give some examples of real war and its reasons.

UKRAINE - RUSSIA:
The cruelest war happening in this second also, It is an best example how a nations greed can cause a war. The direct war between Ukraine and Russia—commonly referred to as the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraineofficially started on February 24, 2022.
In 2014: Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine and supported separatist movements in Donetsk and Luhansk, leading to fighting in eastern Ukraine (Donbas region).
Why Russia started this war, all due to greed and ego, since Ukraine has more natural resource like oil, so European countries began to buy petroleum oil from Ukraine instead of Russia, so Russia impact on Europe is reduced greatly, and if Ukraine joined in NATO, It would be biggest setback to Russia, since Russian economy is falling, to attract attention to prove Russia is a big country, And to inhibit Ukraine's economic growth Russia started war.
Russia attained its goal, since Ukraine economy and infrastructure was totally collapsed , it at least need 20-30 to reach some growth, but why Russia still not stopping war, since people forget about this war , and there no any affect on Russia economy, and many countries also forgetting about this war, Russia started war for its greed but still not stopping, killing millions of lives just for Greed.

I give more wars as example in following rounds  :

How killing of people is acceptable?
Each life has unimaginable value, For any reason how killing a person is acceptable, in wars hundreds of people are killed in one second, One mans hard work , emotions all are destroyed in cruel manner , just for greed.

Con wants to clarify is greediness is more important than life ,I include some other wars later.

I see you want to focus on one war at a time.

The Ukraine war is caused by much more than greed.  The causes include security fears, political, historical, and ideological factors:
  • Security Paranoia: Russia has long viewed NATO’s expansion toward its borders as a threat. The possibility of Ukraine joining NATO was seen by Russian leaders as an existential security issue.  Kind of like someone side-eyeing their neighbor for mowing the lawn too close to the property line.
  • Desire for Political Influence: Russia wants to maintain influence over Ukraine and prevent it from moving closer to the West, both politically and economically.  Russia wants Ukraine in its friend group, not hanging out with the cool kids in the West.
  • Historical and National Identity: Russian leadership, especially President Putin, has questioned Ukraine’s legitimacy as an independent state and sees Ukraine as historically tied to Russia.  Putin keeps insisting Ukraine is part of Russia’s “family tree,” even though Ukraine’s been trying to branch out on its own for decades.
  • Fear of Democratic Movements: A successful, democratic Ukraine is seen as a threat to the authoritarian regime in Russia, as it could inspire similar movements in Russia and other neighboring countries.  Russia’s leadership is allergic to the idea of Ukraine having a successful democracy next door—what if it’s contagious?
  • Ethnic and Cultural Claims: Russia has used the presence of Russian speakers and ethnic Russians in Ukraine as part of its justification for intervention, though these claims are widely disputed internationally.
So, again, it's much much more than greed.

Let's tackle the next war - your choice.

I don't know why you forfeited the round, but I will continue focusing on more wars of the 21st century.

Let’s take a whirlwind tour of 21st-century warfare and see if greed is truly the world’s only villain, or if it’s just one of many unruly suspects at the crime scene.
  • Middle East Conflicts: Here, religious extremism is often the main culprit, with greed, private interests, and corruption joining the party like uninvited guests at a wedding. So, greed is present, but it’s not hogging the dance floor.
  • Africa’s Endless Wars: Ethnic strife, historic injustices, and a little sprinkle of “ancient hatreds” get top billing, with greed playing backup guitar. Sometimes, warlords do get rich, but often, people are just fighting for survival or because their neighbor looked at them funny in 1994.
  • Russia-Ukraine: As I said before, this war has a buffet of causes—territorial ambition, national identity, historic grievances, and yes, some resource interests. But if greed was the only chef, the menu would be a lot simpler.
  • Civil Wars and Proxies: Many modern wars are like messy group chats—everyone’s in for different reasons: ideology, poverty, revenge, or just because they have too many weapons lying around.
  • Climate Change: Believe it or not, the weather now starts wars too. Climate crisis is fueling conflicts over water and land—Mother Nature apparently didn’t get the memo about corporate greed.
So, to sum up: If greed is the only reason for war, then I guess my fridge is the only reason I go to the kitchen. In reality, it’s a mix of hunger, boredom, and sometimes just a desperate search for meaning—just like modern conflicts!

Greed’s definitely at the table, but it’s sitting with a whole cast of troublemakers: religion, ideology, history, poverty, and even the weather. Wars are complicated—if only they were as simple as a villain in a cartoon!
