I: A brief defense of Ironheart

Ironheart has running connections to the MCU that don’t feel out of nowhere- The character, Ironheart (Identity: Riri Williams) was a previously established character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She’s known for her genius inventions and was inspired by Tony Stark.

Her genius and cocky attitude is a reflection of Stark- this is just a remix of his story. I bring this up because a common criticism is that the main character isn’t likeable- however, that’s kinda the point. Tony Stark was also not a likeable character the start of the MCU. He was arrogant, but a genius who grew as the films continued.

As for the side characters and plot line, no complaints. Sure that side characters weren’t too interesting, but they weren’t obnoxious either.

As for the villains, we got to see Mephisto’s debut- which was absolute peak.

II: There are worse entries in the MCU (by far):

She-Hulk: She-Hulk was a cringey mess that took one of the strongest characters in the MCU, and reduced him to a punchline. Whereas Williams is a little messed up to mirror the story of Tony Stark, She-Hulk is entitled, had everything handed to her, and is just magically better than Hulk because… reasons. At least Williams had to work for it.

There was so the twerking scene. Generational levels of cringe.

The Marvels: Once again, we have an example of a main being actually boring, dare I say obnoxious. She can’t take any of her opponents seriously, and is extremely whiney throughout the show, even screaming at people over some dumb stuff like a child.

The villain was just a downgraded Ronan the Accuser. Nick Fury was a badass in earlier movies, but here was just a joke.
