Round 1
Echoes by Pink Floyd in every single version that during time has been done by the band has always demonstrated that it is the SONG.
It is basically is an experimental suite that originally was inspired I think for the movie "Zabriskie Point" but in reality for its complexity and stunning musical and philosophical power has never been actually used, except revisited versions of the movie itself where Echoes appears.
Echoes can be actually divided for me in 6 sections: the starting, the funky groove evolution, the noise void, the first breaking point(around the 16th minute) and in conclusion the final break point where they return to the starting point.
It isn't just a song, it is the whispers of a person that loves people and human relationships no matter what.
Musically it is also awesome.
The Ocean "Ting", the heart breaking emotional transition - and maybe transformation - of the guitar whisper into this funky and experimental beat, which I think it is a refiguration of the evolutions of the relationships between people, and for last the noise void where all that was created before during the first minutes is destroyed, or to be precise, it evolved subsequently in a new form of the human kind relationship with the arpeggios at minute 18 that always makes my heart melted.
I acknowledge my useless yapping but thank you for having accepted this casual draft.
1. "Best Song Ever" is significantly subjective:
Best = of the highest quality, or being the most suitable, pleasing, or effective type of thing or person:
- The concept of a musical piece being "the best song ever" is overwhelmingly subjective.
- I may religiously listen to - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60YnORL9l8Y&list=RD60YnORL9l8Y&start_radio=1 - for an hour a day.
- I may write a symphony of words, outlining all the positives of its origin and features.
- But does it really make it the undisputed "best song ever"?
- The song that beats all form of musical masterpieces in existence?
2. Undermines Other Famous Pieces:
- As good as Echoes, by Pink Floyd may subjectively seem to Pro, labelling it as the "best song ever" can undermine the musical prowess of songs from musical legends such as Michael Jackson, Queen, ABBA, Elvis Presley, etc.
In conclusion:
Pro fixates his stance upon an immensely subjective position.
His stance stands fearful and fragile, like a fly closed abode. Its foundation unstable, like a house upon sand.
