Pie is at least being proactive. Barney is usually quiet no matter what. Curious about whiteflame though. He tends to be more proactive as a member of the town, from the games I've read, and he hadn't been super active on making accusations in this game or saying who he suspects. Tbf, it is the first round. RM said something in one game about whiteflame being more passive as a scum player, and he ended up being right. (I believe it was Governor's mafia, but it might have been an older game.)
Downside is that if we lynch whiteflame and are wrong, we lose a good (and generally proactive) player for the town early on. I'm not saying it's definitely him, but how he's behaved so far is how I'd expect him to behave as a scum player.

I always have a hard time reading WF, but he is definitely an asset to town if he’s town. I personally want to pursue a claim from Barney. He always hides behind the scenes regardless of his affiliation. Last game was brutal for me to watch especially since it seemed like he was just skating by.

All I can say is that I've been busier recently than I usually have with my in-laws in town and work, and that I'm more cautious about my reads coming out of the last game. In that sense, yes, I have been more passive. I have also been responding to the relevant posts and engaging where and when I can, though you'll note from previous games that I've rarely been too active in scum hunting for DP1. Last game was a bit of an outlier.

Fair enough. In Indie Games mafia you were town and accused 7000series in the first few hours of DP1 (don't know if that's what you mean by the last game, since Battlebots was after that). But psychoanalysis is a tricky thing, so I won't press the issue for now.

Since there is a defined theme split in this game of protag and antag. I think we can come to a conclusion on who is likely a protag vs antag and who I can see being a borderline

Well, we do need to find 1 player who has non-confirmable role this dp to lynch him, and the sooner we find him, the better.
And if we are lucky, we wont reveal some important and confirmable roles, because its not in our interest to reveal any town role, its just that revealing town role is often collateral damage from trying to reveal non-confirmable role.
So the setup is
7 - 2.
5 - 2
3 - 2
So town can pretty much afford 3 mislynches, which is greatly in favor of town, as usually we can afford only 2.
Now, if we lynch only non-confirmable and highly suspicious roles, this should be easy, as from what I see, there are at least half town roles which are confirmable.
