What I noticed about story writing

Stories which are interesting usually have one main point stated from start and slowly moved towards through plot.

The main point is usually repeatedly mentioned from the start to the very end, or introduced quickly into the story as crucial.

There can be multiple main points as well, but basically, the sooner they are introduced, the sooner the story becomes interesting.

No one really wants to read about irrelevant details or feel like story is going nowhere whole time.

This is all quite applicable to debating.

There have of course been times when I lost track of it.

In debating, I guess its important to keep paragraphs short and using only the best arguments per specific paragraph.

There were many times when I went on rambling and wasting precious character space on less important points.

But its less important in forums where there is no exact character space limit, so it goes wild.
