Shouldn't we pressure the people who haven't posted at all (Austin/Moozer) before we pressure Earth?

The trivia question is live! Please submit answers via PM or discord only. You cannot discuss or help others with the answers.

PRIZES:

If mafia win, they will receive a 1x politician vote.
If a town member wins, they will recieve a 1x cop ability.

I will not announce the winner until the day phase ends, and only the winner will know they won. in the case of multiple right answers, whoever answers first wins.

TRIVIA:

I am thinking of a mafia role that would be town aligned. This role's category is INVESTIGATIVE. This role would typically be x shot (usually 1x). This role can be considered overpowered with other investigative roles. This role is a day time role. This role has been used on DART before, but not recently. This role can be found on the mafia scum role list.

What role am I thinking of?

Good luck!

Though tbf I've seen Austin show up late and then start posting up a storm. Not sure we'll need a claim from him.

Gut reads, you and anna ping me as really off for all the reasons I've already mentioned. I have a gut feeling with you both. I don't have that hard of a read on casey. But find it weird with their response time.

So order is

They can use this role at night to control a players vote during the following day phase. They can use it anonymously.

I am pressuring him because he is around. logistically yes if they are lurking but I am not convinced they have even logged on. That list changes once I see stuff they post. I don't think earth or anna will post anything to change my mind this DP, so I am happy locking them into something. Earth prior to anna because I think he is more likely to fuck up a claim.

It doesn’t violate anything. It’s meta in live games.
It is? It kinda feels like a cheap way to out scum largely through luck rather than actual deduction. But okay then.

Yeah you try that in a forum game it will never work, there is to many variables and way to easy to fuck with the results of it. In live you have to give fakes claims and role claims to counter it. It just does not optically work in forum and if anything, just would lead to a fuck ton of possible misslynches. We say 8 est everyone post and someone has something come up, and they are just scum read the entire game. It's a lot easier to pull off in live cus everyone is actively participating. It's way less broke in forums and honestly would probably just fuck us.

As soon as people started calling him/her out, she was immediately responsive. It seemed like within minutes. This typically but not always is a very plausible sign of scum lurking. I would almost say borderline scum slip with how fast the responded.
That's fair, but I'll note a couple things:

  1. I usually respond pretty quickly when people actually tag me, as long as I'm not busy doing something else at the moment. You can ask the other players here for confirmation.
  2. The timing is mostly coincidence. I was fairly busy this morning and early afternoon. I started posting as soon as I was actually able to start participating in the game.

Luna said it was fine, if it means anything. I figured he was the neutral source to go to.

Okay caught up. I don’t really know how to address your pressure Mikal. I would have sifted and asked for people’s sorts again if we were to reset the game right now. I guess you think it’s scummy, but I don’t. This is something we’ve done in every game. We now have people locked into a part of a claim which will make it harder for them to fake claim so I stand by the decision.

Not going to post all my reads again just yet, but I'll give an example of why Casey is my top town read right now.

#129, #193, #200 - TL - Concise and reasonable. Casey stuck more to the details of other people’s posts in their town game (Serial Killers) here and here for example, but tended to ramble and be more verbose in their scum game here and here for example.

Kind of want your instinct on this. Here's my current read on whiteflame:
I know you weren't addressing me, but I want to give some feedback as well, especially since you put so much effort in. I don't think your first two bullet points are actually alignment indicative imo. I feel like WF would probably act like that as either alignment, especially the first point. Your other points that contribute to your scum lean are a little bit better, but I don't find the case as a whole to be very persuasive yet.

As for who I scumread, I might be getting hung up over nothing, but I'm not a fan of #189 by Mikal. Why the separation between gut reads and players who just seem off? Those are the same in my mind. It kind of feels like maybe he's trying to subtly set up a wagon on me without being obvious about it? What do you think?

Gut read, is just behavior, responses, and in general just additive things where I trust voting them enough to prioritize it. Something is a little off means you did something sussy but I am not sure its enough to prioritize you.

Fair, I think. I'm trying to categorize every post I can into either scum or town indicative, even if only by a very slight amount. In theory, with enough posts, a consistent trend toward even slight towny or scummy behavior would be telling. Biggest thing is that whiteflame usually has some pretty towny posts or takes more initiative, and I'm not seeing as much of that in this game. I also feel like I shouldn't have the strongest read on a player like WF this early.

Why the separation between gut reads and players who just seem off? Those are the same in my mind. It kind of feels like maybe he's trying to subtly set up a wagon on me without being obvious about it?
If this is a mistake, I don't see it as necessarily a scummy one, nor specifically focused on you since he mentioned two other players and is voting Earth rn.

Alright. Follow up question, why put inactives on the list and above the very slightly sus? Moozer and Austin haven't even been on yet at all.

To clarify, there's always a POE (process of elimination). In the past, and as shown in this game, earth hasn’t gone very in-depth and usually gives short responses. That kind of play could come from either town or scum, but it's hard to get a solid read without more active engagement. Mafia can win games by coasting, and while earth has been consistently contributing, he hasn’t taken any hard stances or pushed his own reads. It feels like he’s saying “I’m here,” but not “I’m locked in.”
As for ana, I’ve explained my position multiple times. The way they started their soft claim just felt off. Even as town, most people don’t casually float an idea and immediately roll with it. It seemed more like an attempt to build towncred than a natural progression. While others might not see it as scummy, I just can’t shake that gut feeling.

Earth and Ana take priority over you in my POE.

Regarding you, your immediate response after being called out was very fast, almost too fast. That kind of quick reaction often comes from scum, though I don’t see it as strong as the other cases. That’s how I’ve built my POE: you're not cleared, but you’re a lower priority compared to the inactives and the two above. The rest either lean town or are null reads.

In short: I think you're potentially problematic, just not as urgent a concern right now. Your instant reply felt like you were waiting to be mentioned before posting.

Also, can you restate your case on Earth for me? Briefly, you don't have to go deep into analysis, but what's your reasoning again?
